Great to hear. Also excited about LB Kevin Palma's commitment news, it had been a while since we picked up any commitments. In other recruiting news, speedster WR Devon Allen visited UCLA this weekend, I wonder when he is coming to Stanford.

Here's an article on Palma from the local newspaper:

2013 LB Peter Kalambayi, a Stanford commit, tells me he's still waiting on acceptance to Stanford despite a 4.3 GPA & ACT qualifying score."
"2013 LB Peter Kalambayi's Plan B may be Oregon. "With the admissions process at Stanford, Oregon is a def possibility." May visit soon."
Other than Sean Barton, has anyone else been admitted in the class of 2013?

I don't think so. Seems like Kalambayi will get in though. I'm more worried about Savaiinaea not getting accepted.

How could anyone choose between Stanford and Oregon? The schools and program couldn't be more different.

I wouldn't call that choosing. It is a back-up plan in case he doesn't get admitted to Stanford.

According to Woodberry's Clint Alexander, Stanford are still recruiting Doug Randolph hard, were at last game. Also looking at Martini. #ND"

Article says we made the final two, but UCLA is in the lead based on his most recent visit.
Who can we send to the airport to pick him up? And can we just put him on the field now?

I think we'll be on par with UCLA after Allen's OV. The celebrity coolness should wear off by then.

Francis Owusu sounds like a wonderful young man:Â
http://www.maxpreps.com/news/wlaEhYdoqU2pYBgj8ySQWQ/francis-owusu-is-big-man-on-oaks-christian-campus.htm
"You love having a player like Francis on the roster. He's the first one to arrive at practice and the last one to leave," said Oaks Christian coach Jeff Woodruff. "Some guys talk the talk. Others walk the walk. Francis is the latter of the two examples. He's a leader for us, no question about it.''
""He does it all for us,'' Woodruff said. "When you have a player as talented as Owusu, you have to find ways of getting him on the field. No sense in sitting on the sidelines.''
Wise coach.

Well, what UCLA did may be a no no. Having someone not associated with the program in an official capacity pick up a recruit at the airport on an official visit, as a means to impress the kid, is an NCAA violation.Â

Not a subscriber, but anytime I see a quote like that I'm encouraged. Johnson would seem to be a very good bet if he can get in. Crossing my fingers there.

yes, he's a lock if he gets admitted. And I also feel the same about Devon Allen if he gets admitted, even though he says UCLA leads by a little.

When the admissions acceptance cloud of uncertainty lifts, it makes a difference. If you all recall, Jameis Winston took a day or two after NSD to make his firm FSU commitment final after hearing he got accepted by Stanford.

Drukarev notes Ryan Burns' improvement, gets the breakdown:

After a lot of caterwauling about the whole Burns situation, early returns look fairly good on Burns. Obviously has to prove it at the college level, of course.

Johnson would be a great addition. I am really excited about our secondary next year with Carter, Lyons, Browning, Richards and Reynolds.
