Vanderbilt's class is falling apart in the wake of Franklin's departure.

That is absolutely shocking. Just shocking. Shocking, I say!
How many recruits were we both targeting?
EDIT: Also, when Sanford left, did we lose any recruits to BSU? It seems like a lot of the time those sorts of guys bring one or two with them. Has he even tried to flip any? If he hasn't then damn, what a classy guy.

I have a hard time imagining any players leaving Stanford for Boise State. UCLA? Maybe. Cal? Maybe (if the program was not in a total shambles. Or a place like Duke, if the athlete was from the eastern US. But the academic gap between BSU and Stanford is so brobdingnagian, and the students we recruit must attach a certain level of value to their education, that I have to think none will move.
I do wonder about how many of the Vandy commits we were recruiting, but I would think that a student realistically would, have to have been doing something like Jesse Burkett, continue to work on your Stanford application even while being committed to Vandy. I wonder how many would, or could, pull together an application at this late stage?

The only Vandy commit I know we are pursuing and has been admitted is OL Jesse Burkett (
http://247sports.com/Player/Jesse-Burkett-23236). He camped with us over the summer and was on campus this past weekend enjoying an official visit with other commits/recruits.
There was an Stanford in-home visit in December where the Vandy commit posed with one of our coaches wearing Stanford gear surrounded by happy family. The picture did not engender confidence in his commitment to the Commodores. If he doesn't commit to The Cardinal, it would be surprising.

scorecard - 01-12-2014
I knew that they are the Vanderbilt Commodores, but never thought much about it, not having spent any time in the South. From Wikipedia (with my comments inserted):
"Vanderbilt's intercollegiate athletics teams are nicknamed the Commodores, in honor of the nickname given to Cornelius Vanderbilt, who made his fortune in shipping. Students and alumni refer to Vanderbilt athletic teams as the "Dores" and use several cheers, including "Who ya with?" (usually responded to with "V-U!"), "Anchor Down" and "Go Dores!" (can't imagine why they don't go with Go Commies instead -- it has a nice ring to it)
The term commodore was used by the Navy during the mid-to-late 19th century. A commodore was the commanding officer of a task force of ships, and therefore higher in rank than a captain but lower in rank than an admiral. The rank is still used by the British Royal Navy and other Commonwealth countries, but the equivalent modern-day rank in the U.S. Navy is rear admiral lower half (isn't that kind of redundant?). Since the term was used most during the 19th century, Vanderbilt's mascot, "Mr. C", is usually portrayed as a naval officer from the late 19th century, complete with mutton chops, cutlass, and uniform."
Franklin must be one hell of a recruiter. If you thought we had a tough sell in a mascot, look at this guy. Nothing, and I mean nothing, instills fear into your opponents like an old man with mutton chops.
Then apparently there was this. The best part is how he bloodies the kid up but has that creepy smile on his face the whole time.

What do the asterisks mean versus the bolding?

if I had to guess, I think OF has a typo and bolded means admitted, not committed
