How any burger with American cheese is on that list is beyond me.

De gustibus non est disputandum.

It's National Burger Day!

I would not recommend any of the ones on this list that I've eaten [#31 Craigie on Main (one of my favorite local restaurants restaurants), #30 Mr. Bartley's, and #2 Minetta Tavern].  They weren't bad.  I just thought they were too expensive and did not live up to the hype.  Instead, I recommend Burger Joint at the Parker Meridien hotel in NYC.  It could be that I prefer fast food style burgers ie less meat.

No. 33, the Solly Burger has everyone thinking it's made of pork before they taste it.

Big Kahuna Burger

Minetta Tavern burger is phenomenal. Probably the best I've had on it's own merit.

Father's Office is my favorite in LA.

I actually really enjoyed the burgers at Treehouse....hit the spot.

Maybe it's my age, and the fact that I can no longer eat nearly as much as I used to. Or maybe it's the fact that I'd like to lose 10 pounds. But I don't think more than two or three of those "best burgers" even looked good. I'll take a Counter Burger at the Counter myself.

That's interesting.  The best bowl of clam chowder I've ever had (and I love the stuff) was at Le Meridien in Boston.

Would you like to speak at this year's National Cattlemen's Convention?

If we're adding clam chowder to the discussion - check out the chowder at The Landing in Marblehead, MA. Just wonderful stuff.

Re: Our mole at the Chron strikes again... - Bruce Wang - 05-29-2014

Since we're talking chowdah, the best I've ever had is the Seafood Chowder at Burke's Seafood in Quincy, MA.  Lots of crab, clams, and lobstah in a rich stock.  If you don't believe me, ask fullmetal.  I took him there once.

I will always be partial to the Black Pearl in Newport. They sell a canned version of their chowder that, while a shadow of its fresh self, is miles ahead of anything I can get in this dumb state. While I love both of them, CELERY AND BACON DO NOT BELOW IN CHOWDER.

The inventor of the Slider still lives, and so do some of it's very early habitues....

Bacon belongs in everything.

Speaking as a true Texan, I love clam chowder. I do add a bit of tabasco sauce to it though. Mmmmm...tasty!

Wow.  I'm going to add Sriracha to chowdah and see what happens.

I've always used tobasco with my chowder, but most New Englanders think it's sacrilege. Sriracha doesn't complement the chowder quite as nicely.

I find that Arizona Gunslinger Chipotle Habenero hot sauce is perfect in both New England and Boston clam chowder for that extra kick.

I am still a brobdingnagian fan of the chowder at the original Ivar's in Seattle.
