Hell yeah!!! Slammed a two-run home run over right field to end the game 5 to 4 at the bottom of the ninth. On our way to the super regional in Nashville to face Vandy.
Indiana is now 39-2 when leading after 7 innings. Both of the losses to Stanford the past two days.

So happy for this team. No small feat taking down IU at their home.
Tommy Edman, I'll remember your name (and how to spell it).

Baseball games can ebb-and-flow a lot for me. But "bottom of the ninth" is just one of those perfect creations in all of sports.

Rushed home just to see the last inning. What a game!! Great team effort by the good guys. Our young guys are showing great talent.

Does this warrant Stanford a top 16 finish thus more points toward Director's Cup?

Teams in the Super Regionals finish 9th at worst, translating to 64 Cup points.
Geaux Cardinal!

Since you asked ...
Boydsworld has RPI calculated as of this morning. Has Stanford at #36 and Indiana at #2.
So, next week should be easy as Vandy is only #5.
Warren Nolan's RPI calculation appears to be post-game tonight.* Has Stanford at #28 and Indiana at #8.
Therefore a somewhat tougher job next week with Vandy at #4.
More seriously, this is a repeat of a three game series from early March where Stanford was swept in Nashville in three competitive games. I hope we'll see this team has grown a lot since then.
* Note you shouldn't read all of the differences in RPI between the two to tonight's game. Boydsworld and Warren Nolan have never quite matched all season long - which is suprising because the RPI is pretty cut and dried. Boyd Nation notes that his RPI's might be off because he doesn't track ties and cannot always tell which games are neutral sites versus off-campus home games (think UW playing at Century-Link Field in Seattle).Â
