witches made out of wood (or trees) 24
witches who weigh the same as a duck 17

For the first time I am predicting something I don't quite believe, as my real guess is that Stanford has another poor outing on the road. But we could win in this manner - and as long as that's possible I can't bring myself to predict otherwise.

I think the game will hang on the time of possession. If we were able to keep long drives going, I think the defense would keep the Ducks at bay we'd be able to score enough points to win. The game against Oregon State was mildly encouraging: perhaps the "streamlined offense" will work better that at the beginning of the season.

Alas, I'm not overly optimistic about us being to dominate TOP, so I'm going to go with 28-17 for the mallards... sigh.

Hum, even if this one was a bit more expected (13 Carboarders predicted a loss), we got another disappointing result for the Cardinal...

The best prediction for this week goes to SamAtoms1980. Even then, his/her 35-18 thumping by the Ducks ended up being a tad optimistic.

In the General Standings, being pessimistic paid off. Gauss and Big Brother, the only ones in the top-10 to predict a loss, shoot up to #1 and #2, respectively. They are followed by 2 for 2028 in third place.

SamsAtoms1980 has scored 192 points on only FOUR predictions for an average of 48 points per guess.  Three reactions - 1) That's AWESOME!  2) Thank Heavans he's only made four predictions or he might have lapped all of us by now. 3) where the heck did that username come from ?

Samuel is my middle name.  I did like Sam Adams way back when, but I've mellowed to Corona Extra.  1980 is when I graduated into birth.

I've been interested in theoretical chemistry since they gave us those ball-and-stick molecular models to play with in junior high school.  My current avatar is a depiction of the electron cloud of a single atom of zirconium close up.  I got it off a British website.  That it happens to be Cardinal and White is a bonus.

Yeah, I got my bachelor's degree from Caltech and my Ph.D. from Stanford, both in chemistry.  Now I'm a scientific programmer at UCI.
