I found this article on Williams:
http://blog.mysanantonio.com/hssports/2016/09/girls-basketball-wagner-guard-williams-narrows-college-choices-to-three/
She has visited Oregon State, Baylor, and will visit us. Those are the three.
And this on Estella Moschkau
http://www.oldgoldfreepress.com/columnist/Bob_Richards/columns/674.shtml
She is down to Wisconsin, Oklahoma, and Stanford, and has visited Wisconsin.
Can't find anything on Dodsen.

Dodson seems to be friends with Nadia Fingall.
Today was the last day of the open contact period for WBB recruiting. I'm not quite sure what that means, actually--someone familiar with recruiting please chime in and say if this is significant. In any case, announcements seem to be getting very very late this year. I think I would have less confidence if there was only one announcement at this point, since the fact we have 0 gives me hope that this is going to be orchestrated in a group. At least I hope so.

Article today on Kiana Williams:
http://www.espn.com/espnw/sports/article/17727760/elite-recruit-kiana-williams-san-antonioi-wagner-closing-college-decision
Says she is visiting Stanford this weekend and could make a decision by Sunday. Also considering Oregon State, Baylor, and Texas Tech. The phraseology about deciding immediately after her visit with us....sounds hopeful to me.
For what it is worth, the Tennessee board thinks Maya Dodson will turn down Tennessee for Stanford--on the strength of the degree and playing with her friend Fingall. But that is of course speculation that is worth just about as much as Cardboard speculation!

Bring 'em on...the more, the better. Interesting that now with Karlie's injury and Lili gone, we're not looking quite as strong at guard. Is Anna Wilson playing yet, or still dealing with concussion?

That is excellent news that all three we have been tracking are visiting together--I wonder if the visit was delayed to make sure they were coming on a weekend with a home football game after the students were back? Having all three here together, this late in the cycle, bodes very well for their decision. Let's hope we get some happy news soon.

The name of the fourth recruit has not been released.Â
From what Kate said last summer I am not surprised there is a fourth recruit--Tara always comes up with someone we cannot predict--and no fifth--Kate said it was likely we might save a slot. So the fact that there are four squares with past practice.
As for who the fourth could be--for a recruit to be sufficiently off our radar screen, a plausible guess would be this is someone like Alanna Smith who we did not track until the last minute. Consider what Kate said last summer:
Quote:"I don't see a h.uge difference (in the available talent pool)," Paye said. "I think one difference is for the first time we have international kids. Alana is our first Australian. We have Mikalea coming in as our first Canadian. There are more and more international players in college women's basketball. For us, because of admissions and language and everything, Australia and Canada are natural fits in making that really work. We're really excited about that. I think that's a big change.

Excellent! At No. 8, our highest recruit since Chiney at #1, and the highest recruit not named Ogwumike since Kayla Pederson at #4 in 2007. Tinkle was a #10. Nneka was #6 in 2008.
Now, lets hope the remaining visitors follow suit!
