Garrett Dickerson was someone on the Stanford radar since his sophomore year because he looked the part (for his age), had the grades, and played well versus decent competition. He played for Bergen Catholic out of New Jersey, and they travelled to New Orleans to play Terrence Alexander's high school, John Curtis. We did offer Dickerson at OLB, but unfortunately he did not show much improvement his junior or senior year. From what I understand, we backed off our recruitment of him during the season of his senior year. He committed to Northwestern two years ago joining his brother, Cameron Dickerson, and is playing what we would call the H-back position.

If I remember correctly, we ended up following this formula: [Stanford predicted score - Stanford actual score] + [Opponent predicted score - Opponent actual score] = margin of error. The total number of points awarded is based on the number of players entering in a prediction for that week...i.e. 20 predictions, the person with the smallest margin of error gets 20 points, 2nd place gets 19 points, etc. There was a 10(?) point bonus if your score prediction was perfect and a 5(?) point penalty for picking against Stanford with the result being a Stanford win. Your weekly score would be added to the season-to-date totals.
Shall this be the formula for this season?
Is Guass running this contest again? Publius?

I thought there was also something about margin of victory (so if the actual score is say 24-17, a prediction of 27-20 is better than 27-14), but maybe not.

Yes, I remember that component as well.

Nerds = 28, 'Cats = 13. Shaw holds all Cards in check for our first two games; no revelations of our true power prior to playing U*SC.

That's a good point, the playcalling will probably be fairly vanilla. Still, if Stanford can execute the fundamentals and just overpower NU, our 30+ pt predictions may still be in play.

28-14 in favor of Nerd Nation. Bring on the season!

Chicago does have a restaurant that gives FL a run for its money: Alinea. I give FL the edge. Everything they served was great. Some of the stuff at Alinea was amazing; some of it was inedible and unrecognizable as food.

That is heresy! Chicago deep dish pizza is totally delicious. Double crust sausage pizza at Gino's East. Total ecstasy!

You must now be made to swim with the fishes ferrari. There is perhaps no greater insult to the people of Chicago.
Gino's East is simply unmatched in the world - the Great Chicago Fire pizza is unreal. No matter where you go, make sure to order your deep dish pizza with saaasage.

There are a few good places for Neapolitan style pizza if you know where to find them.

I fully agree. They might as well call it quiche. Give me a crispy thin crust with light gourmet cheese, fresh herbs, and prosciutto.
