any sign of Cajuste? No deep threats makes the job of the defense MUCH easier

Nw misses the field goal. The d stepped up after the bogus call.

Don't forget that we're down Rector too...

and now we punt

weak, weak, and sounds like uncreative to boot

We need him.

At least the punting is decent.

still, I'd prefer if we don't have to punt in the second half :)

Got away a bit from our run game with McCaffery the second quarter. Disheartening that Hogan hasn't been able to carry us though.
Shaw has been described as conservative about 10 times or so.

fortunate to be down only by a touchdown so far. Outgained by about 100 yards and a turnover on our side of the field.Â

Team is not physical enough. A lot of missed tackles and missed blocks. That's the difference so far.

When was the last time you heard a Stanford team described as not physical?

Down 7 and looking flat on O and D. Anyone have stats on our comeback wins in 2014?

This is Walt-Buddy level ineptitude. I don't see light at the end of the tunnel this afternoon. Maybe if Taboada or Hooper gets a couple of steps on a defender.
But I think the D can pull out a semi-miracle. The NW guy has to throw a pick, doesn't he?
OTOH, Robinson looks good.

I think expecting the defense to play better than they did would be a little too optimistic. The offense has been dreadful.
I don't know whether I am more disappointed in the execution or play calling.

The O has been the big disappointment. Take away the first six plays of the game and we have got nothing done. We definitely need Rector and Cajuste in there.

Complaints:
1. Having the color guy on the broadcast call the coach conservative, let alone three times in the first half
2. Waking the team up at 4:45am PST (No Pac-12 team should agree to play a 9am PST game)
3. Not enough blitzing of a first time starter QB
4. No downfield passing (longest pass completion is what, 8 yards down field?)
5. Everything Stanford does is slooooow
Re: Northwestern Game Thread -
washingtonismoney - 09-05-2015
Rector's return will be helpful -- but most important ingredient is decent OL play, which has been weak.
Re: Northwestern Game Thread -

Rushing yards: NW 141, Stanford 34
That's the difference.

Could not agree more about the line. Of all the parts of the team, the OL and the QB were supposed to be the most stable and reliable. But the OL has just not been there.Â
Do we know Rector will be in there the second half? Or is his suspension at least for the full game? Any sign of Cajuste on the field?
