Before CTCard has a chance to come in, last week's offense actually featured plenty of throws (35, in comparison to 27 rushes. Several of the rushes were Hogan scrambles as well).
The trouble was that the passing offense nibbled so much. This has gone deeper more frequently. (This may be what you're referring to.)

Irwin has to play more. Love has to play more. The TEs have to be incorporated into the offense. The FB has to catch passes.

If you watched the Oregon-Michigan State game you realize this is the JV game that my high school, anyway, staged on Thursday afternoons befor the Varsity games Friday nights. Sad.

To my eyes, the problems are many. Hogan has not been sharp. Our OL hasn't been getting great push, and is fouling a lot. Our receivers are still dropping passes. I don't think it's as simple as throw deep more, or run power more, or whatever.

All right Skyline High School reference.

How many perfectly thrown balls has Schultz dropped? Probably the same number as Cajuste... Ugh!
At least there's finally a semblance of rhythm to the offense.

I'd still like a few more north and south runs.

I find it fascinating that a drive with the best series of well-designed plays and use of personnel also ends up being the best executed and most successful drive of the season.
Finally putting pressure on the defense to defend multiple things.

So ... we have an offense after all.

It's now 1 a.m. body clock time for the Floridians. They're tired. The adrenaline is gone. They are playing against bigger players. This will be a brobdingnagian blowout, like Michigan against Oregon State. Close till half time, then boom.
We'll see what happens next week. Hope we stop dropping passes.

Well said, Mick.
I'm hoping that after the next TD we bring on Chryst and/or Burns and more of the burned redshirt brigade so as to both blood them more and give the Toejams as little more knowledge about our capabilities as we can and keep our key players healthy.

What the hell is Shaw thinking?
He forgoes a FG, which I like, but isn't like him. But calls two QB sweeps in a row? Didn't throw one pass to these elite TEs off play action after a pick gave them the ball at the UCF 12?????

Did we forget how to hold without getting caught?

Bryce Love!
Nice job on the bubble screens. 2 catches; 135 yards. Hogan actually has a decent line now: 17-29, 341 YDS, 3 TD. To be fair, 90 of those yards were all Love.

That is the most energized have ever seen Shaw as he disputed the illegal substitution penalty. Wow! He was screaming? Is it a coincidence that the next play Love took off for a 93 yard TD?
