2000 Rose Bowl after the fiasco in Texas comes to mind.

Not to be a downer but that loss to Texas wasn't in-conference.
[/quote]

What does that have to do with the statement that "We've layed eggs and played in Rose Bowls before."  If UW goes to the playoffs, then the fact that we lost in conference to them is irrelevant,

If we keep playing like this, how are we going to beat any team except maybe Rice?

Re: Stanford vs. Washington Game Thread - BostonCard - 09-30-2016

If UW keeps playing the way they are playing tonight, then they will go to the college football playoff, no help needed.

But of course, we cannot play like this again.  And really, that's what we need to focus on.  I wouldn't worry about what Washington does from here on out.  We just need to regroup and get back to playing our game.

It's not analogous. That loss to Texas had absolutely no bearing on our going to the Rose Bowl, whereas this loss will. If we hope to ring in the new year in Pasadena again we need UW to either run the table and get into the playoff, or drop two conference games.

This Rose Bowl talk seems way way premature.  Fact is with the injuries and inept play on the O-line, QB and Defense, there is more than a few things to clean up.

Why do you think this is our true level of performance? We played a lot better than this in previous games, it's more reasonable to think that we're significantly better than this game but somewhat worse than we expected coming in.

Arizona has a completely different offense than we do.  Our offense is so boring it's clear as day what we're trying to do on any given play.

Arizona had a mobile QB that ran for 180 yards on Washington.  Completely different type of game they played down there.

Sure. But a benefit we fans enjoy is not having to worry about "looking past" any opponents. We can day dream to our hearts' content.

That's pretty stinky to short kick it away from CMAC at this point.  That's just cruel.

Agreed. Also I suspect UW is actually really good, which was unknown coming into this game given their schedule.
