I was upset at Burns in the first half, but honestly I think his only big problem today was holding onto the ball too long causing a couple sacks.Â
But really the reason we only put up 6 points is that this is the worst OLine play I've seen from a Stanford team in 8 years.Â
Stanford wins and looses in the trenches, and today that's what happened.

If we keep playing like this, how are we going to beat any team except maybe Rice?
Why do you think this is our true level of performance? We played a lot better than this in previous games, it's more reasonable to think that we're significantly better than this game but somewhat worse than we expected coming in.

I said "if we keep playing like this."Â I didn't say that I thought we would keep playing like this.Â

2000 Rose Bowl after the fiasco in Texas comes to mind.

Not to be a downer but that loss to Texas wasn't in-conference.

What does that have to do with the statement that "We've layed eggs and played in Rose Bowls before."Â If UW goes to the playoffs, then the fact that we lost in conference to them is irrelevant,

Again, same thing could have been said after the game against Texas. UW played out of their minds, to their credit. And we lay a stinker. It happens. We are better than we played today. Next week we are at home against a 1-2 WSU team that has lost to FCS Eastern Washington. We just need to flush this game down the toilet, regroup, and get ready for next week. Of course, we are going to need Holder and Meeks back.

I was just wondering the same thing. Scarlett should be the back at this point.

It's not analogous. That loss to Texas had absolutely no bearing on our going to the Rose Bowl, whereas this loss will. If we hope to ring in the new year in Pasadena again we need UW to either run the table and get into the playoff, or drop two conference games.
[/quote]
I suppose this is a good time to issue a reminder that in 1999, we lost to UW as well. And we lost to SJSU. This is a stupid argument.

Or Tucker for that matter. Would suck if he is hurt for any amount of time.

Look, if we play this way the rest of our games, we'll lose a lot more than we win.
But we're obviously a better team than we are showing tonight.
I bet UW drops two down the stretch. Oregon has beat em 12 in a row and it's at Autzen.
We have to improve in the trenches, clearly. But I think we'll turn this around.

Would it suck if Tucker is out though? He played horrible tonight. I'd rather see Hamilton in there at this point.
