Re: Stanford ND Game thread - jacketree - 11-28-2015

I wouldn't punt inside the 50 the rest of the game.

Re: Stanford ND Game thread - amartinsu13 - 11-28-2015

This defense really pisses me off.  Started at the 8 and drove right down the damn field.  This is a joke.

Re: Stanford ND Game thread - jacketree - 11-28-2015

This is crazily effective.  Of course you can't hold them to a FG when you don't cover knockoffs.

Re: Stanford ND Game thread - SeattleTree - 11-28-2015

Apparently this is the game plan on D. Working to perfection. The offense, however, needs TDs, not punts, not FGs and not turnovers.

Re: Stanford ND Game thread - dabigv13 - 11-28-2015

And we've forced the FG....

Jacketree, I agree, that is the natural decision if this is the way we're going to play defense. Hope Shaw commits to it if that's really his strategy.

I'm surprised. I know we're down to our backup CBs, but I think Meeks and Alexander have shown some really good cover instincts. If we're going to play our safeties so far back, at least let our CBs play up, or alternatively let our safeties come up in the box. The ND defense is probably too good for us to give up 3+ points a drive.

Re: Stanford ND Game thread - SeattleTree - 11-28-2015

Ugh

Re: Stanford ND Game thread - dabigv13 - 11-28-2015

What the hell was that on 2nd down. Terrible.

Re: Stanford ND Game thread - dabigv13 - 11-28-2015

We should go for this....

Re: Stanford ND Game thread - jacketree - 11-28-2015

Wish Shaw would defer more often.  Seems game momentum is shifting toward Irish.

OL starting to fail too

Re: Stanford ND Game thread - dabigv13 - 11-28-2015

We can't play defense the same way. Need to at least try to defend between the 20s now.

Re: Stanford ND Game thread - dabigv13 - 11-28-2015

Well shit.

Re: Stanford ND Game thread - jacketree - 11-28-2015

Well maybe they'll play up now.

Re: Stanford ND Game thread - amartinsu13 - 11-28-2015

Offense getting dominated in the second quarter.

Re: Stanford ND Game thread - jacketree - 11-28-2015

Shaw will have to be aggressive if he wants to win this.

Re: Stanford ND Game thread - SamAtoms1980 - 11-28-2015

You're lined up to not give up the big play and you give up that play?

FAIL.

Re: Stanford ND Game thread - SeattleTree - 11-28-2015

Everything going the damn Domers way.

Re: Stanford ND Game thread - Cardinal96 - 11-28-2015

We are simply outclassed from a talent perspective by Notre Dame, even with all their injuries.  Our defense is just embarrassing.

Defense getting dominated the whole game.  Have not stopped them yet.

Re: Stanford ND Game thread - dabigv13 - 11-28-2015

CMac so good....

Re: Stanford ND Game thread - jacketree - 11-28-2015

Spreading it out. Nice adjustment.
