Re: PAC12 Bowl Update - BostonCard - 12-30-2015

Wow, a blown call prevents Wisconsin from a touchdown.  The runner was ruled out of bounds, and the whistle blew, even though it looked like his foot was in.

Wisconsin takes the lead with a two and a half minutes left.  Does USC have a game winning drive in them?

I have real mixed feelings here.  Pac-12 Pride versus watching SC start the Helton era in a major hole.

Well, Kessler will end his career with a game-ending interception, barring a miracle.

USC... 11-3 talent that went 8-6.  I can't decide who underachieved more between the two LA schools.

Not quite. USC forced a punt and got the ball back for one last try, but stalled at the 50. Of note: The punt was a touchback, but the Toejams started at the 10 because one of their players committed a knuckleheaded personal foul away from the play. Could their all-world field goal kicker have made a game winner if the drive had stalled on the 40 instead of the 50? Let their fans agonize about that over the summer.

And their final play, on 4th and 10 with 7 seconds left, was a 6 yard pass to a guy on his way out of bounds.  Even the receiver seemed surprised Kessler passed it to him.

As someone who despises U$C, that was basically the ideal way for the game to end.  Complete incompetence with regard to the game situation.  Fight on.

Hopefully this is only the first of several victories for the Chryst clan over the Condoms.

Re: PAC12 Bowl Update - Farm93 - 12-31-2015

Still not quite sure how USC lost that game.  The schools from Los Angeles have really let the conference down this bowl season.  USC removed a lot of coaches during the season, and I think that game demonstrated the importance of a qualified coaching staff.    A bit concerned about the Pac-12 vs BigTen this bowl season.

In other Pac-12 bowl news, looks like Oregon should be a LOCK in San Antonio on Saturday if Boykin does not play.  Not sure if TCU will find a way to overlook the incident, but a program with any policy on off field conduct should not allow him on the field on Saturday.

Re: PAC12 Bowl Update - Hurlburt88 - 12-31-2015

I can't imagine Boykin playing . . . but then again maybe they can nominate themselves for the Fulmer award

Re: PAC12 Bowl Update - yvonne - 12-31-2015

Boykin is not playing.

This gives me such schadenfreude. Max Tuerk should be proud that somebody carried on the tradition.

Boykin tweets about it... sounds legitimately contrite.

Re: PAC12 Bowl Update - BostonCard - 12-31-2015

Just curious, is anyone watching any of the semifinal matches?  There is something wrong about important games being played on Dec. 31.  I watched parts of Clemson/UO, but for whatever reason, the game just wasn't all that exciting... considering it featured the #1 and #4 teams in the country.  I'm following MSU/Alabama, but my kids wanted to watch something else, and I don't feel strongly enough to want them to change.

Anyone watching?

The TV is on but I'm not sitting there. Things to do.

The reason the games aren't exciting to me is because I don't really care about any of the teams. I don't particularly like or hate any of the teams. There's always rooting against the SEC but that only creates enough interest to turn the TV on. It doesn't get me to sit still for very long.

Re: PAC12 Bowl Update - BostonCard - 12-31-2015

MSU is getting pwned.  The last two possessions have been indicative... MSU with two three and outs, Alabama with a punt return for a touchdown and a one-play touchdown drive on a play action pass.  Alabama is winning 31-0, and MSU is making Lane Kiffin look like a genius.

Alabama vs. Clemson? Boring....
