Neuheisel complains that Burns only throws for 137 yards per game.

Well, Burns hasn't been asked to throw for more than this, and the one time he was asked to throw-throw-throw on a drive it worked.

However, it is true that Burns needs to throw more efficiently, specifically more accurately. Burns PER is only 127 right now, which is 10th in the conference and not adequate. He is missing high and low. Even on the wonderful final drive vs UCLA, he was high twice and low twice on the 8 passes he threw (one high one and one low one were caught).

He also says that Burns delivery is too long. I hadn't noticed that, but in comparing to Hogan no delivery looks long.

I have to admit to having a not-really rational thought that Chryst has looked better during his few brief appearances. I thought the ball looks good coming out of his hand, the offense mostly looked crisp, and his one incompletion was on the first non-called targetting offense by Goodman. Of course Chryst hasn't had nearly enough game reps for there to be any meaning in that evaluation - so I'll chalk it up to just a feeling for now.
