Re: Big Game thread - dabigv13 - 11-18-2017

I could really do without the seemingly frequent occurrence of some mediocre kal RB blowing up in the Big Game.

Re: Big Game thread - needle - 11-18-2017

The offense did great on one drive but otherwise has really struggled. Kal should have more than 6 points, and presumably the sure-tackling Murphy is out for the rest of the game.

I think Stanford will probably lose if the running game doesn't get going. I just don't see Costello being able to carry the team on his back at this point. The other path to victory is if Stanford adjusts to shut down Laird and forces some mistakes from Bowers.

Re: Big Game thread - dabigv13 - 11-18-2017

I hope we get Costello to keep it on some option reads here in the second half, particularly if Love is still hobbled, might be a good way to use him as a decoy.

Re: Big Game thread - jacketree - 11-18-2017

They are keying on Love and he’s not right, so I agree.

Re: Big Game thread - CompSci87 - 11-18-2017

Cal section has to boo the Band because they are the Stanford Band, even though their show is about free speech and debate in place of mindlessly booing and hating your (political) opponents. Ironic.

Thinking they were booing the bit about the re-enavtion of the play, replete with a down knee.

Yeah, Kal's doing a pretty good job of shutting down our running attack. Can Costello win it for us with his arm? Stay tuned.

Re: Big Game thread - dabigv13 - 11-18-2017

Murphy back in the game, which is good. Reid at CB would seem to be a recipe for trouble.

I meant later in the show, and as the Band left the field.

I think it would be Antoine, but yeah, good to see Murphy back in.

Re: Big Game thread - dabigv13 - 11-18-2017

Reid had lined up at CB at end of half, per the announcers.

Re: Big Game thread - BostonCard - 11-18-2017

That was an important stop.  After they gave up the conversion on third and eight I worried that aval would have the momentum.  So stopping them on the 45 was big.

Isn’t Buncom a converted CB?

Thanks, I didn't know that.

Re: Big Game thread - dabigv13 - 11-18-2017

Time to separate. A Love 80-yarder would be perfect here.
