At the half, Stanford has 406 yards on offense! We are averaging 10.7 yards per pass and 10.7 yards per rush. Talk about a balanced attack. Love is averaging 7.1 ypc and Costello is at 45 ypc. Parkinson has 5 catches for 143 yards and 4 TDs. That's 28.6 ypc!
GO CARD!!
Our D needs to step it up. This is crap.

Bent but unbroken, and we get the ball back after the failed fourth down conversion.

I mean, it would be surprising if he came back, but IIRC other players have walked twice. Shaw always tells the RS Juniors that if they're not sure to just walk.
It would be very surprising if JJ-Arcega Whiteside came back. He's a first round draft pick and will have graduated.

That's been true of other players, too, and they have returned (e.g., Luck). But I think he will go.

Luck was an academic junior when he decided to come back. JJ-AW is an academic senior. So, his situation is more akin to Luck's when he decided not to come back.

How much do we lose on DEFENSE?
ILB: Okereke and Barton, both seniors. But does Barton have one more year?
-- What do we do with Pryts (back to Safety)? Looking for JMagnum-Farrar at ILB.
OLB: Alfieri graduates -- More depth here than ILB. How about Gabe Reid at OLB? T.Sinclair inbound.
CB: Holder moves on, but Adebo and Eboh look good. 4star STurner-Mohammed inbound.
Safeties: Lose most, but Head, Williams back. Need to stock up.
DLine: Swann (JR), DWPerry, Umerah, RJohnson, TBooker, Bo Peek.
plus Herron and Pakula coming in.
Some holes to fill, but the larder is not bare either.

Ah, yes. You're right. Forgot he decided against leaving early, not merely when he had more eligibility. My bad.
I guess my point is that I do not think it is automatic that a player leaves when he can. But having a degree
and a first-round grade is really hard to ignore.

In Spain, the soft 'c' and the 'z' are pronounced as a 'th'. But that is a Spain thing.
BC
As someone else alluded to, it's a Castilian thing, it's not universal in Spain (and my experience in Castilian territory is that no one really does it any more anyway). I vaguely remember something about there being more variance in the way Spanish is spoken in Spain than in Latin America, despite the latter being way larger.

I think it's pretty normal for a language to have more variation in the country where it originated.
RE: OSU Game Thread -
Stymie - 11-10-2018
Vis a vis the Arthega/Arceda contretemps, when I was in Jr HS, my music teacher said that the "th" vs. "s" was introduced into the language by the fact that a King back in the medieval era had a pronounced lisp, and the court and then the people adopted his kind of speech. Could be fake news, but, whatever.....
What I do know is that when I took a semester in Spanish at Georgetown, my professor said that both contemporary Spanish and Mexican were phonetically corrupt languages. He was a Costa Rican, and (not surprisingly) believed strongly that his county's pronunciation were the most pure form of the modern era.

More than you ever wanted to know about the Spanish coronal fricative.

I grew up in Latin America, and I can say that neither Argentine Spanish nor Venezuelan Spanish are "the most pure form of the modern era".
I would nominate highland Colombian as the most neutral Spanish.
BC
Nice job by Maddox to get into the end zone, and I'm glad we went for it on fourth down. That's three different players with rushing touchdowns tonight, and I would say that should be all for Costello.
