He's the same exact size and position as current commit Ryan Agarwal. Wasn't gonna come here.

4 star SF Jaylen Thompson just committed to Stanford! Big time shooter

Excellent

RE: MBB Recruiting - PVTree - 09-08-2021

Good get. CJH seems to have s knack for landing these versatile wings that we rarely used to get. Now, if we can get a top-75 center, we'd be looking mighty strong.

Now, if he can just get them to play to their rating and work as a team...

Stanford recruiting the past 3 years, Pac 12 ranking

2019: 7. Terry very underrated
2020: 3
2021: 3. Thus far

You didn't write "Willaims overrated" after the 2020 class, which you would have had to do to be consistent with calling Terry underrated.

Moreover, Terry was a one-and-done.  The player who led to us being ranked #3 in 2020 was also a one-and-done.  In terms of impact, though Terry was underrated, the 2019 class' impact as #7 seems more or less accurate, and the 2020 class' #3 rating seems to be an overrating.

Here's hoping 2021 breaks the trend.

I don't think Williams was over rated. Covid and, imo, bad coaching decisions, limited his effectiveness. He's going to be a star...and he could have been at Stanford as well

RE: MBB Recruiting - BobK - 09-08-2021

BC His name is Williams and he went 10th in the draft. Not over rated.
Plus they were recruiting rankings and I have my own opinions. Thank you :)

I don't think there's much doubt about Haase's ability to recruit talent. The more serious questions are about his ability to develop talent and build a cohesive unit.

RE: MBB Recruiting - BostonCard - 09-08-2021

By overrated I mean that the output didn't match the talent.  He may turn into a brilliant NBA player, but there's no question that the number of hypothetical wins above replacement that he contributed in his Stanford career was negligible.  I don't disagree that it wasn't his fault; the criticism is directed at least as much at Haase.  But it is just a warning that until Haase can show that he can turn his recruiting successes into on court successes, I will continue to be cynical about his recruiting classes.

Made 4 star guard JJ Starling's top 5. He's the biggest target for the staff left on the board.

His academic-heavy final five bodes well for us, obv.

Looks like we picked up a preferred walk on.  His highlight package is pretty darn impressive for a walk-on.

Doesn't Self have a lifetime contract?
