Do we not even teach our cornerbacks to even attempt to look for the ball?

Had NC State not wasted a time out earlier when they only had 10 on the field, they would have forced us to punt.
Who says that jet lag doesn't matter. Stanford has to be the worst team in the ACC over the last four years, and yet we are undefeated (4-0) when playing at 7:30 PM Pacific kickoffs.

If we had more home games left other than SMU I’d have more hope.
We’re stuck in a rut hard to win on the road, and hard to beat a significantly strong team at home.

We did it.
For me, the nailbiters are the most satisfying. I'm not going to worry about our next games. Just gonna savor this one.

So jet lag only matters if the West Coast team wins every single time, no exceptions, that it plays a 7:30 start against an East Coast team, and if we were to ever win an early game in the East Coast, that too would disprove the hypothesis that jetlag
influences performance.

By far the best first-half of the year on offense. Defensively, best first half since...Elon (two weeks of solid performances in.a row, I'm not complaining).
The defense and offense both struggled in the second half, but for Stanford to end up forcing a punt by NC State on their first drive really was so important. You could feel their belief on the first snap, and then it just drained away.
And credit to Stanford special teams for making the mundane plays....Kenney with the 31-year FG, Chris Davis with the onside kick recovery. Mundane, but not easy under pressure.
But the biggest smile comes from Stanford's QB1, RB1 and WR1 all outperforming their counterparts. That's not me talking, that's the box score talking. Has that ever happened in an ACC game? I could be wrong, but I don't think so. Everyone has to be happy about that.
