Not a subscriber, but anytime I see a quote like that I'm encouraged. Johnson would seem to be a very good bet if he can get in. Crossing my fingers there.

Johnson would be a great addition.  I am really excited about our secondary next year with Carter, Lyons, Browning, Richards and Reynolds.

Devon Allen cancelled his trip to Stanford for the WSU game, but "his recruitment remains open," whatever that means:

Re: Class of 2013 - socalstanfan1 - 10-27-2012

Starting to sound like maybe Devon Allen, for whatever reason, may not be leaning toward us.  Grades?  Desire to stay a bit closer to AZ?  Who knows.

Has anyone heard anything of late about another top receiver, Jordan Cunningham, who had us as a co-favorite with Miami (at least for a while).  I know the Miami fans all seem certain he is destined to become a Hurricane, but I wonder if his silence is a sign that he is waiting on admissions here before making a commitment anywhere.  I would love Allen to come here, but would be pretty happy with Owusu and Cunningham as incoming receivers, along with Cotton and maybe Taboada as incoming TE prospects, along with Burns at QB.  Not a bad haul to add to last year's OL + BSJ + the slew of receivers (Whitfield, Rector, etc)

I'm glad he decided to skip this game.

Greg Taboada commits to Stanford: https://twitter.com/StanfordRivals/status/262762462187757568

Has some offers from some schools you may have heard of: Alabama, Oregon, South Carolina, Arkansas, Vanderbilt, FSU...

Can play either TE or OLB. Four star according to ESPN (which loves them some southeastern prospects), medium- to high-three-star for everyone else. Good get.

Uh-oh, Isaac Savaiinaea visited Stanford for the unfortunate WSU game:

“It wasn’t that great football wise,” he said. “I think everyone knows football isn’t extravagant over there. Especially the game I went to, like there were so many empty seats, it was a dead environment. Everyone went to the San Francisco baseball game. That’s the biggest difference between Stanford and other schools, is the football culture.”

Re: Class of 2013 - StannyBoy - 10-29-2012

Yeah that was pretty unfortunate the Giants WS game was the same day. I'm a die hard Stanford football fan but I would never attend a game if the Giants were playing in the World Series.

Re: Class of 2013 - OutsiderFan - 10-31-2012

Hard to imagine why Stanford would have any recruits come for a game against Washington State, even if the Giants and A's lost 100 games each.

The question is was Isaac S. turned off of Stanford by the dead football atmosphere?  Or is he willing to look past that in his college decision?

Savai'inaea has decommitted and now lists Texas A&M and UCLA as his top two. You could kind of see this one coming.
