Yeah the offensive playcalling was exceptional on the opening drive. Not so much recently. We're not running on them, we need to give Hogan some running opportunities or go back to some of the screens.

The refs have screwed up some calls (that end zone PIÂ ::)), but nowhere near what the board is complaining about.
MSU's defense is just playing great, and their QB, apart from some boneheaded throws, is being accurate, which forces our D to be honest and not stop the run effectively.
With a few good plays we can still win, but it's looking tough...

Jut got harder. This opponent is good, and they have been feeling like underdogs.
(1) They can pass on us
(2) We can not run on them and are not showing flexibility really shift to a separate plan.

I feel that Wayne Lyons and Ed Reynolds both seem to be a bit late. We're getting killed through the air.
And if our offensive line is truly the best in the nation, they should be making a better show, even against a defense as great as Michigan State.
They are the better team, at least so far.

My theory: We showed innovation and creativity at the start because some of those early sequences were scripted or planned -- maybe not explicitly, but mentally, Shaw had earmarked a few starting gestures. But when it gets into the rapid and intensive battle, he's just leaning back on his reliance on our "identity" ... and his favorite spots on his plastic card. I join others to encourage them to bring play calling a bit out of Shaw's hands.
