Perhaps he never did - which is odd because anyone vaguely familiar with the LSJUMB would have realized that from the get-go. It wasn't all that subtle.

Of course this shows the limitations of satire (and out and out mockery) all over the place in our culture, with field shows a rather extreme example. It's amazing how often people don't recognize satire.
