“That’s obviously too long,” he said.

The rookie has plenty of time to get his legs under him. That’s part of what the summer’s for.

Interesting wrinkle of Yaxel's summer league performance. His Box +/- (BPM) of 15.2 was the highest ever recorded, which is crazy considering he wasn't scoring or shooting at some historic rate. It's one of the best factors of his game, is his teams just seem to win and perform at an above expected rate, even when he isn't dominating scoring.

LeBron goes to the...76ers?

LeBron James signs with Philadelphia 76ers

So...didn't go somewhere close to his home in SoCal where his family lives and he'd won an NBA championship..
Didn't go to play with his friends at Golden State, who have won four NBA championships during his career.
Didn't go to his second home/home away from home/Akron childhood home (almost), Cleveland.
Didn't go to the site of his former NBA championship glory, the Miami Heat.

Instead, he goes 3,000 miles away from his family, to a play-in, 7th place team last year, and he signed for $8 million for two years. Better hope Embiid stays healthy. This is an old, fragile team. Better hope there's enough basketballs for Embiid, LeBron, Maxey, etc.

Frankly I'm relieved he didn't come to the Warriors.

I'm bummed. I won't miss the LeBron circus but the fact is the warriors don't have enough talent. Getting a top talent (which LeBron still is) on a tiny salary was our only real shot.

The next domino will be Steph's extension. If he takes a full max it's basically an admission that he's done competing for titles. He deserves every penny for what he's done for the franchise, but if your team is built around a 40 year old making 70 mil, you have no shot against teams built around 24 year olds making 30 mil. If he wants to pull a Kobe and get paid to command a terrible team, I won't begrudge him that.

But there's a world where he, Jimmy, and Draymond go into the 27-28 season on much lower salaries and the warriors get a real shot at a rebuild.

Quote:Per ESPN’s Shams Charania, Green and the Warriors have agreed to a $27.7 million deal through the 2026-27 season. Green’s deal is the same as the one he opted out of before the 2026 free agency window which allowed the team to have flexibility to pursue LeBron James
