Love the picture of the two of them standing together (other than the boot, that is)
Some of my other thoughts I posted while I was there:
First half:
-We sure jay Tyler is 5'7?? Dude looks 5'5 standing next to the rest of the offense
- Nice pitch and catch TD Costello to Stewart. After a couple miffed snaps by Costello. Probably drank too much coffee ;)
- Didn't see much from either burns or Chryst, but I showed up a little late
Second half:
- Burns looking solid his second time around after 'half time' (?). Line giving him a ton of time in the pocket
- Beautiful TD pass On the run Burns to Irwin
- Didn't see much from Chryst on his second go around. Defense dominated
- Costello looked decent again. Nice pass to Stewart
Also, that was all the analysis of a casual fan. I look forwarding to reading what more informed fans thought of the scrimmage :)

Haha yeah, I originally took the photo because I thought it looked good with CMac and Love next to each other with Chryst in the background.
It wasn't until I got home I realized I had a picture of Love in his boot, so I could show you all.

Did we already know Love was injured? And do we know the prognosis?

DC 86 - 08-19-2016
David Shaw said that Love will be back "in a few days".

Here is the Comical's write-up on the scrimmage

Our top three tight ends are now all injured. They didn't say what was wrong with Schultz, but hopefully he'll be back soon.
If I had to guess, I'd say Burns has the edge now, although I think they will both play against KSU.

Taboada and Schultz are fine, per Shaw:

Reading the tea leaves from 6000 miles away.....
1. #1 priority for KSU is to avoid the clusterf**k of Evanston 2015
2. #2 priority is to have a QB who can hand off, lateral and/or dump off the ball to McCaffrey and/or Love.
3. see #1 above
I think we will grind KSU down into oblivion and both Burns and Chryst will see significant minutes. After that we have 14 days rest before the University of Sociopathic Criminals and we will see a very different team then than the one which played against KSU.
In my dreams....

I love the reference in the interview to "The McCaffrey Project".Â
My son wants a headband like WildCaff wears. Anyone know good place to get one? I am only too happy to indulge!Â
Wouldn't read too much ointo 8/19 open practice -

except that our DL is bestial when both Solomon and Phillips are in and 100%
that Burns rollout scramble to Irwin coming across TD... neither Phillips or Solomon in that series of reps
both Burns and Chryst under pressure when they were in, also we had several blitzes in the D package that also caused pressure... QBs had to scramble a lot... and sacks were called on just slight touches or brush-bys...
repeat we will have a great DL... if we stay healthy
Re: Training camp thread - ChicagoCard - 08-20-2016
Who else in the DL position area is looking good? I was surprised to read that Phillips said in an interview that they are weighted toward nose tackle (as opposed to defensive end).

Helps also to have good DB's. Our front seven will get their share of coverage sacks, as we did vs. Iowa.

One of the OL (sorry, I forgot which) volunteered that Luke K. is very tough to block, especially when he's angry.

It's Tucker, as from Cardinal Sports Report's interview with him:

Quote:CSR: Finally, aside from Harrison Phillips and Solomon Thomas, because I think they'd be the answer to this, which defensive lineman gives you the most challenge when you go up against him in practice?
Tucker: I think Luke Kaumatule. He's going to be a good guy this year. Especially when he gets angry, he's tough to go against... When he gets mad, you're going for a ride.

DC Cat, we welcome opposing fans who want to have a good conversation. Foolish trash talk or trolling is just going to get people laughing up their sleeves at you. You won't find much satisfaction in it.

He did? Cool. Maybe that helps explain why he did not return for year five - it may have landed him a great job in Silicon Valley.
Two on the team in Symbolic Systems is awesome. It's a really demanding major; I know that sounds self-serving, but it is interdisciplinary in computer science, philosophy, logic, linguistics, artificial intelligence, and cognitive psychology. It can be challenging to go deep in so many fields that are (seemingly, at first!) unrelated. At any rate, it shows that the FB team has a lot of players taking a lot of interesting and challenging classes.

I think Rule of Tree just gave Luke an extra reason to get angry... (and I'm going to say that will end up helping our cause)
Quote:As far as Luke Kaumatule goes, if he is even a decent player, I will personally admit I was wrong but he is not very good and will most likely only see the field in blowouts and Senior Day so when you see his name popping up, dont buy in to it.

Someone else, if not the same writer, on ruleoftree wrote that Bright will win the guard spot opposite Caspers. I'll go out on a limb and say Bright will be at RT and Fanaika at LG.
