My wife nearly threw up. I still cannot believe they didn't call that, completely ridiculous.

C'mon now. Bad call but UCLA is simply outplaying Stanford.

Stanford outgaining UCLA on yards per play basis. Don't think that's accurate at all.

Well, two turnovers will do it.  Bad penalties don't help.

Way to know where the sticks are, JJ.

You watching the same game?? :)

It's not all about statistics.

Re: Stanford at UCLA Game Thread - ThePassionOfTheChryst - 09-24-2016

Burns looks absolutely lost in the pocket tonight. His line is not helping matters.

Meh - I'm not sure we're saying that w/o the ridiculous non-call. Let's see how it plays out.

Well the game would look a lot different if the targeting had been called.  Decent chance it would be a 10-7 game Stanford.

I hope they figure this out at half time.

Looks like we are just going to go into the tunnel.

Awful game management there. Absolutely no justification for taking three timeouts into the locker room.

Re: Stanford at UCLA Game Thread - BurgXXIII - 09-24-2016

Is Shaw concussed?

Unbelievable. Typical Shaw conservatism.

He better pull out the stops in the 2nd half.

Re: Stanford at UCLA Game Thread - BostonCard - 09-24-2016

I agree that we should have pushed the tempo.  But on the last play, we were facing third and thirteen in our own territory.  Still, why not have some faith in our offense and our defense should it fail.  Give us the best chance to at least get a field goal.

Re: Stanford at UCLA Game Thread - jacketree - 09-24-2016

Probably, but Stanford needs to get its act together.  Not playing as well as UCLA just based on what I'm seeing.  You could also argue UCLA should be up 21-3 if Rosen could just hit open guys.

Two DBs down could be a real problem.

We've done that routinely more years than not.

Re: Stanford at UCLA Game Thread - Stymie - 09-24-2016

It's time for us to wake up and play the next 30 minutes with passion and intellectual intensity.  Not brutality.  That is UCLA's modus operandi for this game and it has made me puke......

My guess is that with the way the offense has been playing Shaw thought we just needed to go in the locker room and regroup.

Re: Stanford at UCLA Game Thread - thunder_chik - 09-24-2016

Well, the first half was obviously pretty disappointing.  We need to be snapping the ball quicker, hitting harder, controlling the LOS and getting to Rosen.  BTW, that thing above Rosen's lip looks to be a Nymphalis antiopa.

Shaw is a great coach in many respects, but his conservatism on offense is what drives me nuts.

Re: Stanford at UCLA Game Thread - jacketree - 09-24-2016

All that and just down one score. Maybe Stanford will find their inner Tennessee.
