Re: Stanford @ Washington predictions - ColoradoTree - 09-29-2016

I entered my prediction on the Google form right after it went up, but I have no idea what I wrote down.  Serves me right....

Whatever my three-days-ago self thought, my current self thinks as follows:

Sunshine 30
Rain 23

Here's how I see it breaking down.  First, while the UW secondary and linebackers are very good, there seems to be a relative weakness on the defensive line.  That makes me think that we'll see steady doses of Christian all night long, getting him solid yardage and softening things up for the occasional breakout run, both from him and from Mr. Love.  Second, our defensive line will largely bottle up the UW run game, putting it on Browning to win it through the air.  Third, the whole Browning-through-the-air thing will work for a while, especially between the 20s and given our cornerback injuries, but our defense largely holds firm in the red zone, forcing UW to settle for 3 FGs in addition to their two TDs.  Fourth, and finally, our special teams will be the difference, with Christian getting us good field position and Ukropina making key kicks.  The game is another nail-biter, with UW scoring to bring it to a 7-point game with a few minutes left, but we run successfully at a tired UW defensive line on the ensuing drive, draining the clock until it's victory formation time.

FYI, those descriptions of my predictions are my way of coping with the intense nervousness I feel.  I don't like this one bit--UW and UCLA feel like they're going to be dogfight games for years to come, assuming both of those coaches stay there.

Re: Stanford @ Washington predictions - fullmetal - 09-29-2016

I think David L. picked against Stanford in another game recently, did he not?  I feel confident that his true rooting interests are still true cardinal.

Husak says the same thing in this interview: http://media.1080thefan.com/a/116893357/todd-husak-stanford-football-radio-color-analyst-9-29-16.htm

Though he seems more sanguine about Burns.

I feel confident that his picks are not necessarily an indication of his fandom.
