RE: Sun Bowl Game Thread - BostonCard - 12-31-2018

I will say, the run defense has been great this series.  Four run plays; drew one hold, stopped one play in the backfield, the next one forced a short gain, and read the QB draw well, to get a three and out.

Yes, the D is keeping us in this game.  It's hard to believe that we could win this with one more TD.  Can we do it?  I think so.  I hope so.

As I said before, the defense is playing well enough to win this game.
I thought the offense might have some problems with all the people out, but I didn't expect it to be this bad.

JJAW wakes up the Stanford O.

RE: Sun Bowl Game Thread - ADPinWDC - 12-31-2018

FINALLY!  JJAW with the play of the game down to the 3 !
Now SCORE Standing Up

RE: Sun Bowl Game Thread - martyup - 12-31-2018

Punch it in!

Sometimes you need luck on your side.

RE: Sun Bowl Game Thread - BostonCard - 12-31-2018

Wow, the DB bailed us out, and then somehow we fumbled the ball for a touchdown.

RE: Sun Bowl Game Thread - Durty Nelly - 12-31-2018

I suggested Costello keeps, but I never imagined that being the result.

RE: Sun Bowl Game Thread - ADPinWDC - 12-31-2018

BRILLIANT CALL!  Fake it to Scarlett, then toss it to him 3 yards while falling down!
Stanford 14, PITT 13 with 11:30 to go.

RE: Sun Bowl Game Thread - BostonCard - 12-31-2018

Yeah, just how we drew it up.

Message just now from my wife, who gets score alerts on her phone: "stanford scores a touchdown on a pitt sack? what does that even mean"

Basically how I felt watching it. BUT I'LL TAKE IT

RE: Sun Bowl Game Thread - BostonCard - 12-31-2018

Holder has had a tough game today.

BC

Does that count as a passing touchdown?

BC

Oregon is scoreless

RE: Sun Bowl Game Thread - Hurlburt88 - 12-31-2018

Holder missing tackles like against WSU.    Hattis seems to be doing OK to my eyes

RE: Sun Bowl Game Thread - martyup - 12-31-2018

Thankfully, Pitt has abandoned their running game.

Depends on how the officials saw it: pass or fumble. Sure looked like a fumble to me. So I believe it will count as a fumble recovery touchdown, not passing.

RE: Sun Bowl Game Thread - Durty Nelly - 12-31-2018

Oregon can not find an offense today either.  Mid 3rd quarter and about 100 yards total offense.  Pac-12 bowl game woes.

It almost looked like Costello, at the last second, chucked it to Scarlett.

Go on 4th down, if needed. I don't like punting here. I'm sure it's the right call, but I don't like it.
