RE: Next starts now: Notre Dame Game Thread - Austroturf - 11-30-2019

Defense looks totally gassed now.

RE: Next starts now: Notre Dame Game Thread - BostonCard - 11-30-2019

Not that it matters any, but Notre Dame now has used two time outs to prevent a delay of game, while Shaw has only done it once.

Clearly Kelly is a dreadful coach who needs to make changes immediately or else, right.

Auburn 48,Alabama 45, for those keeping an eye.  Late fourth quarter.

Frustrating game.  We started out so promisingly, then just lost our mojo.  That blocked punt turned everything around.

RE: Next starts now: Notre Dame Game Thread - BostonCard - 11-30-2019

From 17-7, we’ve given up 31 straight points.

RE: Next starts now: Notre Dame Game Thread - Austroturf - 11-30-2019

Ducks beat the Beavers 24-10.

Let's just get one more TD and beat the spread.  That would be something.

RE: Next starts now: Notre Dame Game Thread - BostonCard - 11-30-2019

Nice call on the inside handoff for the touchdown. ND was playing both safeties back, and the middle was pretty open for Scarlett

Do they go for the onside?

RE: Next starts now: Notre Dame Game Thread - Ratmandoo - 11-30-2019

And the refs finally called a hold on the ND linebacker when our running back runs the angle route. It's about time

RE: Next starts now: Notre Dame Game Thread - BostonCard - 11-30-2019

Alabama missed the game-tying field goal.

Gabe Reid is still playing.

so much for beating the spread.

Well.....that about sums up the season....

RE: Next starts now: Notre Dame Game Thread - Austroturf - 11-30-2019

That was a complete disaster.

My prediction was 38-21.  I was in position to win until that fiasco.  What a complete and utter mess.

When Notre Dame punted, I thought that at least I would get the ND score right with only a minute left.

RE: Next starts now: Notre Dame Game Thread - BostonCard - 11-30-2019

Well that concludes another season of Stanford football.

Tough year.

Well our guys played hard. We're close, we're really close. A couple of big plays going a different way and we would have had a different outcome. It's a game of inches.

He was close to getting fired at several points this decade.
Congrats to War Eagle BTW

Must have been the larger than expected crowd.

RE: Next starts now: Notre Dame Game Thread - Phogge - 11-30-2019

Crimson, type that up and give it to Shaw. LOL.

It's over.

It's finally over.

I can't be hurt anymore.

You are being too kind.  It was a disastrous year.  Absolutely miserable.

Streaks ended:
10 game winning streak against UCLA -- gone, and at home to a UCLA team that will not go bowling.
9 game winning streak against Cal -- axe back in Berkeley, loss at home to a Cal team that is barely bowl eligible.
10 year bowl game streak: done, over.
Home winning streak against Notre Dame ended after wins in 2009, 2011, 2013, 2015 and 2017.
And that strip sack at the end of the game was just salt in the wounds. 38-24 was still respectable.  45-24 looks just awful.

So glad this season is over.  At least basketball is off to a promising start.

RE: Next starts now: Notre Dame Game Thread - thunder_chik - 11-30-2019

Well, my prediction was 24-23, so at least I got our part of the score right. LOL.  Our next to last possession/disaster in the end zone marks a fitting end to a very disappointing season.  Losses to ALL our major rivals--USC, UCLA, Oregon, Kal, UDFG--so depressing.
Hope we don't see a mass defection of recruits.  How does Shaw explain this season's meltdown to prospects?

RE: Next starts now: Notre Dame Game Thread - PalmTree - 11-30-2019

So I'm sitting here after this latest debacle when my wife (not an FB fan at all, in spite of her granddad having played at USC) comes in to see how things are going. I describe that last Domer TD to her and added it was our 8th loss.  She looks at me and without batting an eye, asks me, "So that's it - what's next?"

Guess I could've said something clever about next starting.....oh never mind...
