There is often guidance from the football staff on when to submit. Waiting for first semester grades is often recommended for certain candidates so I wouldn't read too much into late applications. It isn't necessarily a sign of a lazy or disinterested recruit. The staff knows what they are doing and are helping the recruits through the process so it all concludes successfully on signing day.

I am hearing that Denzel Franklin was accepted...very happy for him! This keeps the Georgia pipeline alive and adds another needed DB to this class.

Woohoo! So it's official now. The only downside is that after hearing years of puns based on Andrew Luck's name, get ready to hear many more terrible Chryst jokes. Every time he leads a comeback. Every time he makes something out of a broken play. Every time he redeems a coupon in downtown Palo Alto. But I promise, you won't hear them from me. It's just too easy. Even I won't stoop this low. And this should mean something, coming from a guy who wrote a tangential meandering post on pubic hair (An Ode to Tanner Stage 3 - Give me puberty, or give me death!).Â

Not bad to only lose two to admissions through a recruiting cycle geared to bring in 20+ in a class.
Not to pick a nit, but Scout has Casey Tucker as a 5 star (#2 OT) and Solomon Thomas is a Scout 5 star as well. Don't understand why Dalton Schultz isn't a 5 star as the #1 TE on Scout, but whatever.
To me, CMac sould be a 5 star, too and Chryst is only a 4 star despite being the #2 QB.
If Thomas and Alexander go Cardinal, this class will be pretty incredible, and arguably the best Stanford class ever in terms of pure number of elite athletes. Only missing position is WR, but given the depth at that position now, and the class of 2015 prospects, not much of a concern.

The four services -- 247sports, ESPN, Rivals, and Scout -- all rate the players separately. I think CI's using Rivals' numbers. Last year, posters here and on ESPN said Rivals was best at ranking players accurately and ESPN was the worst, but who knows. It could change from year to year.
