Re: Stanford - University of Spoiled Children Thread - Bruce Wang - 11-16-2013

I never thought I'd see the day when a $outhernCal crowd rushed the field against us.

Re: Stanford - University of Spoiled Children Thread - Trevmiesterj - 11-16-2013

The Offense simply gave this game away.  Maaco Bowl here we come...

Re: Stanford - University of Spoiled Children Thread - washingtonismoney - 11-16-2013

A ton of errors obscure this and make it seem like coulda-woulda-shoulda. But the coaches have to introspect on this offensively. There have been too many games where the offense has failed to lift off. Changes have to be made. Is it at quarterback, where Hogan made some nice throws (and if Montgomery catches, enough to win) but overall is too erratic to be trusted to carry the team? Is it schematically? Things have to change.

This win may have secured the job for him.

Hogan's two bad throws were the difference in the game.

Blocked kick also had something to do with it.

Re: Stanford - University of Spoiled Children Thread - dabigv13 - 11-16-2013

Hard to hold a team to 21 yards rushing, rush for 211 yourself, and lose.

Re: Stanford - University of Spoiled Children Thread - Trevmiesterj - 11-16-2013

As high as I felt last week I didn't expect to feel this low.

Why did it have to be US*C?

Well, that and Montgomery's drops...

... and a poor first half defensively...

... and the blocked Ukropina kick ...

... and the numerous penalties ...

... and the curiously overmatched offensive line ...

Re: Stanford - University of Spoiled Children Thread - dabigv13 - 11-16-2013

I cannot fathom how fuckingg insufferable these SC fuckers are gonna be.

Not feeling that.  O-Line accounted for a lot of yards tonight....

Lots of blame to go around on our side. Kessler played really well and we didn't get a lot of pressure on him a few times when it counted.

God, I hate losing to those a-holes!

Am I going to blame a backup kicker? An OL unit that led us to 6.0 rush average (how can you say they were overmatched? absurd)?

I'm sorry, I really like Hogan, but he played a shit game tonight, and he has on the road this entire season. Is it his fault or the coaches that he made two throws that a 2nd year starter should not be throwing?

Re: Stanford - University of Spoiled Children Thread - Kathy - 11-16-2013

Too many screw-ups by the offense in the 4th quarter. The D only failed once, when it was 4th and 2. It shouldn't have been tied at that point.

We pretty much depend on the defense to win games for us.

Tonite it just didn't happen.

The offense has got to improve.

That's what I was thinking, not nearly enough pressure on the QB. Just an infuriatingly poorly played game on both sides of the ball.

I wish those cheaters got the death penalty for bush.

This is why "defense wins championships" is a canard. The offense has to score, and we came away from the red zone too many times with nothing tonight.

Maybe it is just me noticing this, but it seems every time dabigv starts a game thread, we lose.

He must be banned from creating threads!

Damn blocked field goal and damn the interceptions. USC now will think they are back...
