Enjoyed this profile of Dallas Lloyd: http://m.sfgate.com/collegesports/article/Ex-QB-Dallas-Lloyd-ready-to-tackle-new-role-with-6446742.php

Re: Preview thread (media) - needle - 08-15-2015

Of note in the SFgate profile of Lloyd: John Lynch is offering a bit of advice.

Quote: While visiting his in-laws in Utah just before training camp started, Lloyd got a call from Lynch to wish him good luck. The two men had taken the same business analysis class last summer, while Lynch, who played 15 years in the NFL, was finishing his degree.

Good trivia question - JohnR34231 - 08-16-2015

Who was the last player to play for both Stanford and Kal? Does it go all the way back to George Quist?

Re: Preview thread (media) - terry - 08-16-2015

Dale Rubin transferred from C.al to Stanford in the mid-1960s. He may have stopped at a JC in between.

In the 1940s, seven players played for C.al while enrolled in a Navy training program at C.al, then played for Stanford after the war -- Dick Madigan, Fred Boensch, Jim Cox, Marty Anderson, George Quist, Bill Hacten, and Babe Higgins.

Shaw doesn't sound too vengeful w/r/t Rector, so I think this has been a tempest in a teapot.

If you get Pac-12 Networks, then tune in at 9pm PDT.

Can you say play action pass?

"Dalton [Schultz] is going to play a lot of football for a long time,” [Shaw] said. “He’s potentially a special football player. Right now, he and Austin Hooper are a phenomenal one-two punch. Who’s one and who’s two depends on the play.”

Re: Preview thread (media) - washingtonismoney - 08-16-2015

Hoping we just play both of 'em at the same time, particularly since the fullback position looks a bit meh. I think Shaw has mentioned this a bit but hoping they commit to it.

It sounds like it could be a special year. It's too bad I had to give up my tix.

No tickets here either, Yvonne.  If it is a special year at least most of the games will be on real TV, rather than Pac12.

I know it's a tradition, but I don't think it makes much sense to name pre-season All Americans. . . .
