A new low? We do that a couple times a year.

McCaffrey!

Re: Northwestern Game Thread - FarmBoy - 09-05-2015

That is not something you should seen from a 2-time Pac12 champion coach and 4th year starter at QB.

Re: Northwestern Game Thread - dabigv13 - 09-05-2015

Should've been a PI. The guy was clearly early.

Re: Northwestern Game Thread - BostonCard - 09-05-2015

Noooooo!  Not a punt.

Re: Northwestern Game Thread - jeboody - 09-05-2015

Punt?!?! Wow Shaw doesn't change at all

Re: Northwestern Game Thread - washingtonismoney - 09-05-2015

Can someone deputize an econ, math or statistics professor to explain 4th downs to Shaw?

Re: Northwestern Game Thread - GoodGrief - 09-05-2015

STOP PUNTING AT THE 38 YARD LINE!!!! HAVEN'T WE BEEN OVER THIS BEFORE??? STOP IT!!!

Re: Northwestern Game Thread - stupac2 - 09-05-2015

Hurray, 18-yard punt. This kind of shit is totally on Shaw, and where he needs to improve.

Re: Northwestern Game Thread - socalstanfan1 - 09-05-2015

Sad...a single big play, backed up by...nothing.

What did we gain, 18 yards of field position on that punt? Weak

Re: Northwestern Game Thread - dabigv13 - 09-05-2015

Ugh. Ok well Shaw hasn't really done much this offseason in the way of reviewing the math regarding 4th down option from the 30 to 40 yardline.

Re: Northwestern Game Thread - BostonCard - 09-05-2015

Agree, most of the other stuff doesn't bother me, but punting within the 40, especially with third and make able (5 to go) is unconscionable.

I get that Ukrpinia is untested, but we are allowed to go for it on fourth down.

Re: Northwestern Game Thread - doug - 09-05-2015

So what are the odds of winning when we play this conservatively and punt from inside the opponent's 38? Very low in my memory.

Re: Northwestern Game Thread - yvonne - 09-05-2015

We're not going to win this game. The question is whether this is just a bad start or the harbinger of a bad season.

Re: Northwestern Game Thread - BostonCard - 09-05-2015

And four plays later, NW is back to where we punted to.

I believe the NCAA has some rule limiting how early teams can travel to away games even if school is not in session. Anyone know the details of the travel rules?

Well that basically means not agreeing to any away games outside of the west coast, since neither team has any control over times.

What we really should do is travel early, since we can. I know it costs money, but just go over on Tuesday so we can adjust for a few days and play mostly as normal.

Heck, it's not like we have classes in the first couple weeks.  Finally the quarter system would work in our favor!

Re: Northwestern Game Thread - BostonCard - 09-05-2015

Can the offensive line give hogan enough time to hit Rector?
