Oops, my bad, the Alamo Bowl felt like one but you are correct.

Had Oregon won it also would have made a very strong case for how weak the Big12 is, with OU losing bad, OSU losing too, and then TCU getting blown out, and Baylor beating a not too amazing UNC team.  Which frankly anyone paying attention this year could have told you, instead of those who figured it was Oklahoma and they were 11-1 and thus they must be great.  Oh well.
