This site which tracks D1 coaching openings has a new name for consideration - Archie Miller of Dayton (Sean's brother).  I find that to be an intriguing option.

Jamie Dixon of Pitt to his undergrad school TCU replacing Trent.  So the rumor is Archie Miller to Pitt

What, exactly, is the purpose/value/sourcing of that website?

I note, for example, that the "updated" list for TCU doesn't even include the guy (Jamie Dixon) that they [reportedly] have just hired.  Also, it lists Wayne Tinkle as a possibility for UNLV -- as if he is going to leave Ore.St.  -- and his son -- after one pretty successful season there.  Like that is going to happen.

For kicks, what would it take to get the site to list Steve Kerr as a Stanford possibility?  ;D

Tinkle would be and has been for several years my number 1 choice.  And tell me if Stanford why would he leave his son behind?  If unlv I understand

The site lists Rick Pitino as a possible coach for UNLV.  That would be interesting, to say the least!

This is why I was worried about Muir firing Dawkins:

Re: Wilner declares Jarron Collins the favorite - teejers1 - 03-21-2016

Palmtree, I heard rumblings that Jacobson was offered the job and turned it down.
It's probably triple-hearsay (at least) - but from a semi-reliable Cardinal fan.  Don't know if it's true, but I hope it is because then we'd at least have some comfort that Muir is seeking the right kind of replacement for Dawkins - a proven college HC.

And WIM, it was time for a change.  Even though I think it would be gross negligence for Muir to offer the job to some of the names we've seen bandied about, at least an "unproven" coach is just that, which I submit at least offers hope for something better than what was proven under last regime.

Amaker is a proven HC. He's proven to be mediocre.

To rub salt in our recent wounds, Monty was just admitted to the hall of fame.

Congrats to Monty! Very well deserved! Let's hope our next coach will join him 20-30 years from now. And I think that honor should put to rest any JD-Monty comparisons.
