Basically this whole team is a shambles.
MacCaffrey may be hurt for the cherry on the sundae, but doesn't seem serious.

That's 7 quarters of football and our O has scored 9 points. And we have the 2015 AP player of the year in our backfield. This is going to hurt recruiting. This is terrible.

With potentially such a dismal season, maybe McCaffrey will come back next year and we will be better...

This game thread is just as sad as the game. 4th quarter just started and only 9 pages.

It pains me to see McCaffrey out in the middle of the lake in an inner tube. To waste a season of that kind of talent is very demoralizing.

Actually 11 quarters with a grand total of two offensive touchdowns. Amazing.
Now 35-10. My God, what a nightmare.

After last week's disaster and the very bad start to this game, the wind to our sails have certainly disappeared. Even despite our early season struggles, I still had high hopes for a Pac-12 championship and potentially even beyond going into the UW game. But for the last game and a half, we look like a very pedestrian, middling team and I think we've all come to realize that it's going to be an average year.

...and Solomon Thomas. Maybe by then the O line will figure things out.

Who is this team. We don't lose to Wazzu. Not at home. Not in the black unis. No in a blowout. Our players better damn well be pissed off. Send in the 3rd string offensive linemen. Let them play. Someone needs a kick in the ass. They are embarrassing themselves. /rant.

You could throw to Irwin on every play. He runs great routes and catches everything he touches.Â

I guess you don't remember the Rueben Mayes debacle in 1984 (well no black unis then).....

Some of us prefer to grieve quietly.

At least we were able to put some points on the board in that one.

Are there any positives at all, I wonder?
- First of all, OL is bad. And not just by Stanford standards. TWU cards revoked. Maybe someone who is better at evaluating line play can let me know if Caspers at least is playing well.
- QB not getting a lot of time, but also not always making best choices or best throws or best calls for a top-flight team.
- Receivers dropping balls, including JJAW and Rector (who never had good hands).
- DBs getting burned. A lot. Like, a lot. Yes, I realize we are down Holder and Meeks. But top-flight teams respond, especially ones that brag about recruiting highly-ranked prospects every year, by developing others. I'm not suggesting we will be as good without them. But how about 50% as good?
- Seems like our LBs are an afterthought now. Kalambayi? Palma? Okereke? I've seen some Alfieri.
- No good kick returns. You'd think we'd realize by now that teams will not kick to CM, and have some other ideas.
- FGs. 1-3.
- Coaching. Please take some of the blame for this...
I'm more sad than anything. Especially for CM and the seniors.
