Correct me if I'm wrong but it looks like Chou has lost her match, down 6 with 5 holes left. Still, we are looking pretty good with 2 solid leads, a coin flip, and Aubert making a nice run late.Â

Yup, I think Lee lost 6 and 5.
It looks like Lee won 4 and 3.
Danielson is 1-up with 4 to play.
Valenzuela and Aubert are both all-square.

Andrea Lee drains a 35 foot birdie putt to close out her match 4&3. Match is now 1-1. Players are trying hard to keep their grips dry in what looks like misty rain.

ASU wins their match and now we are up one in two matches

Aubert is two over on the back--and still has gained three holes.
Valenzuela is facing Kim, who was undefeated in her three matches in 2015 including a win over our then-number one, Lauren Kim.Â

Yeah, pretty amazing that ASU blanked Florida (they won 3-0, and were leading in the other 2 matches).
Valenzuela is now back to 1-up through 16.

Aubert hit her approach on 17 into an unplayable lie. She is likely to go to 18 1 down.

Danielson wins and holding my breath
Re: Last woman standing: NCAA golf begins -

Danielson closes out her opponent 3&2.Â
And Valenzuela wins 17 and the match for Stanford!! On to the semifinals!

Just need Valenzuela to hold the last two holes.

Now we play ASU after a great lunch
Re: Last woman standing: NCAA golf begins -

Valenzuela won 2 and 1 to clinch it for us.
Aubert was down 1 in the last hole, but it doesn't matter.
Next up ASU.

Congrats to the team! Way to stay clutch to the end. Fingers crossed those sun devils cool off after a hot morning. Can't believe they blanked Florida so effortlessly.

USC is currently beating Ohio State (each has one match won, but USC is leading in 2 of the remaining three matches). If they win, 3/4 of the semifinals will be Pac-12 teams, and with Stanford and Washington winning in consecutive years, there is a good chance that the Pac-12 (and hopefully Stanford) will win the championship three consecutive years.

The Stanford-ASU match will begin at 1:30 central/11:30 pacific. Stay tuned for the announcement of the pairings. As the higher seeded team, Coach Walker gets first choice and will probably defer.Â
Re: Last woman standing: NCAA golf begins -
BostonCard - 05-23-2017
Walker's strategy seems to have worked. Their number 1 beat Chou handily, but Lee and Danielson won their matches pretty easily. And Valenzuela did well against their #2 to clinch it for us. The only hiccup was Aubert was losing against their #3, so it could have backfired if Valenzuela had some lingering effects from her injury.
All's well that ends well, and in the end we did cumulatively outscore Baylor by 2 holes, so it would have required an
inefficient allocation to lose.

Home team + 3 Pac-12 teams (us, ASU, U$C) make the semis. Looks like we get the desert hedons this afternoon.
I do not envy these ladies. 36 holes of match play is a beast.

All in with coach's strategy. Pairing Danielson with their #4 score in the event seemed necessary because Danielson hasn't been playing like a solid #3.
Can't see a reason to deviate from this. Chou isn't going to beat ASU's number five, so might as well pit her against #1 and get a net four spot advantage in the next four pairings.
Ideally, I'd want Lee against #2, Danielson against #5, and Valenzuela against #3.Â
