Holy schniky! Costello!

Re: Stanford - Rice game thread - BostonCard - 08-26-2017

Nice scramble by Costello for the cherry on top.

Wedington has been a nice surprise tonight.  And Costello just ran in for aTD!!

Re: Stanford - Rice game thread - martyup - 08-26-2017

And Ice-Toner is perfect for the day.  ;D

Re: Stanford - Rice game thread - stupac2 - 08-26-2017

Granted Rice is terrible, but it seems pretty hard to justify Burns being #2. Costello has looked fantastic.

Re: Stanford - Rice game thread - JJJ - 08-26-2017

Have made the Cardboard suggestions known to the resident Band member that Love Gun for BLove and Radar Love for Costello->Love should be played.

Re: Stanford - Rice game thread - martyup - 08-26-2017

Burns had his chance and Costello out shined him.

Re: Stanford - Rice game thread - Phogge - 08-26-2017

Rice is terrible but the talent crew is worse.

Re: Stanford - Rice game thread. Up 62 - 7, covering the 30pt spread easily. - ADPATERSON - 08-26-2017

Nice style points with the Costello TD scamper for 62-7.
Over 640 yds Total Offense for Cardinal -- when was last time we booked >600?
More passing yards (370) than rushing yards (280)... when did we last do that in a win?  And with some dropped passes.
Got the 6-handle on our score for ranking points.  Covered the spread at half with a LOT of time for second string.
Successful expedition for Shaw all around.

Did not see Speights at RB...

Re: Stanford - Rice game thread - BostonCard - 08-26-2017

What is with Rice's huddle-break, where the center goes to the ball, and everyone else goes a bit later.

It didn't work very well, eh?

Re: Stanford - Rice game thread - martyup - 08-26-2017

That's an old school ass woopin' down under.  GREAT JOB CARDINAL!

Re: Stanford - Rice game thread - Phogge - 08-26-2017

To amplify, some kids who might never play again are making tackles and the crew won't mention them. Awful.

Re: Stanford - Rice game thread - BostonCard - 08-26-2017

That last lay just about summed it up for Rice.  Swann with an interception, when the ball slips out of the QB's hand.  Ooofff.

Re: Stanford - Rice game thread - BostonCard - 08-26-2017

62-7 final score.

Re: Stanford - Rice game thread - stupac2 - 08-26-2017

That was the funniest interception.

Re: Stanford - Rice game thread - martyup - 08-26-2017

Jack Richardson gets the last snap at QB.  I didn't know his name before tonight.

Re: Stanford - Rice game thread. Cooled off in 2H - ADPATERSON - 08-26-2017

Quarterly trend -- dropoff noticable by quarter:  21  17  14  10.
especially with Chryst & Love out.

Re: Stanford - Rice game thread - martyup - 08-26-2017

Very clean football game by Stanford.  Good execution and very few dumb mistakes. Great coaching.
