Re: Stanford at SDSU Game Thread - dabigv13 - 09-16-2017

I thought Chryst was a question mark after last year, but he looked pretty ok against USC. Now, I wonder if SC wasn't that good, and were just bad.

Wouldn't mind seeing Costello....

Huzak said it was a dislocated kneecap.  IF he was right then Medline says such dislocations take 6-8 weeks.  But he may not have been correct, of course, diagnosing it from afar.

QB doesn't matter. Need a new offensive staff.

Re: Stanford at SDSU Game Thread - martyup - 09-16-2017

So we have the answer to the question of whether SC is really good or we are really bad.

After 30 minutes of football we have 5 first downs, we are 0-6 on 3rd down, we have 104 total yards, we have 36 yards rushing, we have only 10:42 T.O.P., we lost our starting ILB to serious injury, and our QB is 7/15 for 60 yards with 0 TDs and 1 INT.

This game has shades of Northwestern all over it.  Haven't seen an offense as bad since.

I believe Burns played one snap already, so why not KJ?

Re: Stanford at SDSU Game Thread - SamAtoms1980 - 09-16-2017

We looked very, very French in the first half.  David Shaw needs to light oil lamps in his team's asses right now.

Well, that's been said for the last several years now... (most vehemently after the NW game - the season turned out pretty decent on offense thanks to CMac)

Has Shaw fired anyone yet?

I think Brian Polian was probably a firing disguised as "go find a new opportunity." (He went to Texas A&M and then inexplicably got hired as Nevada's head coach.)

Co-sign.

But a lot of it seems to come down to lack of QB development.

Re: Stanford at SDSU Game Thread - Mick - 09-16-2017

Greg Roman is an offensive assistant/tight ends coach for the Ravens.  I think he'd make a great OC for Stanford.  In six years in the NFL, his teams finished 11th three times, 12th twice and 25th once.  That would work for Stanford.

I would imagine that if had wanted to be a college offensive coordinator, he would be Michigan's OC right now.

Man, Shaw's been around for a while. I had forgotten about Polian.

Can't be. Folks that questioned the staff after last week were crucified. What's changed in a week?

Re: Stanford at SDSU Game Thread - dabigv13 - 09-16-2017

I thought last week our offense looked o.k.  But this stinker against this D....hard to find a good excuse.

Re: Stanford at SDSU Game Thread - North Woods - 09-16-2017

Does anyone know what Shaw was fired up about at halftime?

Huh? Criticism of Shaw and the staff is the favorite pastime of most Stanford fans and message boards.

Re: Stanford at SDSU Game Thread - Card Fan in OR - 09-16-2017

Hey, for those of us lucky or unlucky enough not to be able to watch the game, could someone post a score periodically? Don't know if we're winning or losing--though it certainly sounds like my prediction is shot to blazes. Thanks.

Somewhat discouraged

Apparently he was upset that some players lost their composure.

Could be.  Hamilton and Drevno are both making over $1 million a year as is defensive coordinator Don Brown.Â
