RE: Stanford-UCLA Game Thread - BostonCard - 11-24-2018

Love for two!  That was a nice call, when everyone is expecting the box out to Arcega whiteside.

We need to win this game.

I figure if we go down and score, and then they go down and score, there might be just enough time for us to go down and score again without leaving enough time on the clock for them to come back.

With eight minutes to go in the game, there’s a chance for two possessions on each side, of not more.  Especially when we have three play touchdown drives.

My exact thought. If they score and tie the game with 3+ minutes, we can drive to get the last score.

This is absurd

RE: lex24 - BostonCard - 11-24-2018

How did they not call that hold?

RE: Stanford-UCLA Game Thread - French Rage - 11-24-2018

Some blatant holding by UCLA here...

Well, TC likes those high scoring games., so he should be happy.

Turnover is only hope

RE: Stanford-UCLA Game Thread - PVTree - 11-24-2018

3rd and long.

Or count on their back reversing field. :)

RE: Stanford-UCLA Game Thread - BostonCard - 11-24-2018

Or a 9 yard TFl.  That was a nice play by Swann.

RE: Stanford-UCLA Game Thread - d4cohn - 11-24-2018

Chip was in no-mans land as far as punt versus FG versus go for it, but if I was him, 53 yard FG would be 3 out of 3 on list of options.

RE: Stanford-UCLA Game Thread - PVTree - 11-24-2018

No good!!!

Don't turtle! Drive to get a FG at least.

RE: Stanford-UCLA Game Thread - BostonCard - 11-24-2018

Surprised that Kelly went for the 53 yard field goal here.

Regardless, 5 minutes is forever in this game.

Holy moley, we got a stop (well, they missed a long field goal). Another TD and we just might win this sucker.
We go three and out on three running plays. Story of the season.

RE: Stanford-UCLA Game Thread - ADPinWDC - 11-24-2018

We no longer have a 3rd and 1 play... from the 40 or the end zone.
Shaw relies FAR too much on Bailey's leg.

RE: Stanford-UCLA Game Thread - BostonCard - 11-24-2018

Ugh.    Come on, we could have been better than that with 1 yard to go.  Four minutes is way too much time for UCLA to score.

RE: Stanford-UCLA Game Thread - PVTree - 11-24-2018

Yep, turtling...just gonna give them the ball back.

lex24 - lex24 - 11-24-2018

Haven’t run 3 straight times all game. But you should be able to pick up 3d and 1.

The issue is not being able to convert on third and one.  That should have been a gimme.

OOOOH, MYYYY -- 60+ yarder to the Tight End.
Simple call; and they beat US with cowbell.
