??? Yeah, I knew that. A first down short of the TD and then draining more time before getting the TD would've been ideal.

But, honestly, 3 points after draining all that clock is pretty great. Seems very unlikely that Cal can score 10 in 3:43.

I don’t care what it was.  If you have a chance to make it a two score game with 4 minutes to go you take it.  Cal can score a fluke touchdown in a blown coverage or
Missed tackle, but they’ve mounted two scoring drives all game.  Doing it in the last four minutes is very unlikely.
