They can’t run the ball. Period. Washington state is quicker . They get into the gaps and beat Stanford’s lineman. They simply can’t run the ball, they got to keep throwing it. I understand they’re probably gonna lose a track meet. But they’re probably gonna lose anyway. And they might as well let it rip. If nothing else I’m enjoying watching Mills..
If nothing else I just love to see Shaw throw caution to the wind. Essentially go for it no matter where he is on the field – unless it’s fourth and very long. Take a shot and see where you end up

For sure the idea we could control the game by running the ball isn't getting tried. I do understand that having a bad defense is a problem, and being behind is a problem, but I submit that getting into a track meet with WSU won't end well for us. We get the ball after halftime. We need to figure a way to keep their offense of the field, or we are toast. Their big advantage in number of plays run will take it's toll. Now, if we can't run the ball, we ARE doomed, but we should at least try it. So far we have like six rushing plays.

This, so many times this. If you're not going to try for anything, fine. But we did! We got down there and could have done something with another play or two! There is literally no reason at all not to use it.
"
This, so many times this." And that, my Cardboard friends, is Shaw as an offensive coordinator in a nutshell. He simply does not learn from his mistakes. And, I doubt he ever will. Moreover, he's unlikely to take responsibility for it in the press conference after the game. Not that it makes much difference. Sorry, but Shaw is just lacking as a head coach.

Wow ... long knives out, guys?
Love my Stanford football and (usually) the Cardboard but don’t be a bunch of Debbie Downers in our first tough year.
I see a coach making adjustments that just MIGHT save a game I was ready to give up on early.

KZSU is about 2 sec faster than the Pac12 feed at this sports bar.
Not liking this Duo blocking scheme. But Parkinson converts a middle of the field reception for a first down.

I hear you. However, Cal could and did run the ball against them. Can it be true that Cal has an OL that is that much better than we do? I just don't believe it. It must be a scheme issue, where our blocking just doesn't allow for the defense to move. This has gone on for at least three years, which means different personnel on both WSU and Stanford.

Using the middle of the field. Good things happen.
I don’t know what the issue is. The fact of the matter is they can’t run against this team. So you throw the ball to simple as that.

Yeah, can we at least wait until the end of the game before we begin another round of Shaw bashing.

OK that’s not a bad call if you’re going forward on fourth down here. It’s third and three. Hopefully he’s thinking two downs. FGs are useless at this point.
I think the last play was run about eight minutes ago
Nooooo
Unbelievable

Kind of predictable he'd miss that field goal given he barely was cleared to play today.

Here’s the thing – you have third and three on about the 20 yard line. Of all the plays to run why are you running a 50-50 ball to a guy who never sees the field. That simply makes no sense.

Gotta shake things up to get pressure on Gordon. He has SOOOO much time. Late rush almost worked there

Don't get me wrong, a jump ball like that lends itself to the D getting a little physical. But there's fighting with hands in the air, and there's the hands never getting a chance.

WSU could have been flagged for a lot more PIs. That one on the would be touchdown hurt.

Jfc 2pt conversion for Scarlett. Great call from Shavita, no lie.
