RE: Big Game thread - PVTree - 11-19-2022

Got the score right... Just the wrong team won.

RE: Big Game thread - BostonCard - 11-19-2022

Highlight of the game is Karty making a 61 yarder.  But it kind of makes me pissed about the times we punted when he had a 55 or so yarder.

I had the second half on in the background. I should have turned it off quickly. My god this team is awful. The only thing worse than this team is its coaching staff.

RE: Big Game thread - CompSci87 - 11-19-2022

Oops, I turned it off after the interception.

"Hey coach Shaw, you just lost your 3rd Big Game out of the last 4, what are you going to do now?"

We were 3 plays away from winning. The team did not execute after a terrific week of practice. Not to make excuses, but or 3-deep included students from the cheer squad. :(

Wow he crushed that. Ball got up so fast it left the tv screen.

More generally, should I be glad that we had a highlight or depressed the only real highlight was the kicker on a FG that was irrelevant to the outcome?

RE: Big Game thread - Phogge - 11-19-2022

As an example of McKee’s lack of talent the goal line pass to Leighber was horrible. No touch and bailed out by the kid.

I think McKee will be back next year but I hope he won’t. In college football he’s an anachronism.

Stanford football is so f*****. Regardless of the coaching deficiencies across the entire staff the talent is the main problem. Too many recruiting misses. Injuries year after year are no coincidence. The players aren’t strong and tough enough. But they make up for that by their lack of speed.

RE: Big Game thread - PAsportsfan - 11-19-2022

This team is gonna gel by the 12th game.

RE: Big Game thread - thunder_chik - 11-19-2022

Wow, way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.  So disappointing.

RE: Big Game thread - winflop - 11-19-2022

"I promise we will get it right in Week 14!"

How does Austin Jones look now transferring to U$C?

RE: Big Game thread - marchballer - 11-19-2022

While I’ve enjoyed having McKee as a starter, I’m not sure whether we should assume he is the starter next year. He is ultimately 6-14 by my count as a starting QB and our passing and offensive numbers have been trash with him as QB.

Travis Dye is hurt and Jones is starting.

11 carries for 61 yards in the first half against UCLA.

He does have a real offensive line in front of him.

RE: Big Game thread - newguy - 11-19-2022

i can hardly wait for the press conference.

RE: Big Game thread - needle - 11-19-2022

A senior-laden team outclassed by...Cal.

*sigh*

There was basically one player you’d pay to see, and that would be Ott (a freshman).

I hate SC but damn it if Austin Jones is more likable than KBK.

At least next year’s team will be a bunch of young guys. Might have to sign 40 given the expected exodus.
