Noticed that too.  He has a 4* offer list.  I thought that was what determined the number of stars more than anything else.

Interesting that Florida, Florida State and Georgia haven't offered, though. These are three schools close to his home that you would have expected to if he were perceived as a superstar. Perhaps the reason the rating services don't have him that high?

Not really complaining, though. His offer list is impressive enough.

For those of you in Hawaii, lots of references to the 808 in my twitter feed...

(Note, he's a class of 2020 QB, but there are a bunch of other references to Hawaii)

No need to be so cryptic. Do pray tell. :)

Re: Class of 2018 - BostonCard - 05-23-2017

I wasn't trying to be obtuse; it was in one of the coaches' twitter feeds, and the coaches aren't allowed to comment on specific players.  But it was hastagged "#rushmen", so figure it is a defensive lineman.

Ah I see (said the blind man to the deaf mute).
#rushmen could possibly be teammates of sol-jay then, as they tend to have large bodies up in Kahuku. or not. who knows. we shall see.

Hmmm... another WR.  Should I be disappointed?

Being recruited for DB I believe.

Re: Class of 2018 - DC 86 - 06-02-2017

Interesting tidbit on ESPN today:

Tanner McKee is the highest ranked uncommitted quarterback in the class (#48 among all positions, #4 among QB) and is quoted as saying that Stanford is among "the schools I talk to the most".

He is a 6-6 pocket passer from traditional power Centennial in Corona, with offers from Alabama, Georgia etc.

What is interesting is that he is committed to taking an LDS mission so for all intents and purposes he is a class of 2020 recruit.

HOpe it works out . . . keep the pipeline full & flowing

Re: Class of 2018 - Spiny_Norman - 06-05-2017

Jack West was one of the 24 invitees to the Elite 11 QB Finals this past weekend.  He did not make an impression on this writer.

And he was not selected as one of the Elite 11

The name Stenstrom bounces off the screen

Re: Class of 2018 - socalstanfan1 - 06-05-2017

Tanner McKee, another potential Stanford recruit, fared better than West and made the cut.

Re: Class of 2018 - DC 86 - 06-05-2017

McKee has consistently been rated higher than West, but he is essentially a class of 2020 recruit since he will be going on an LDS mission immediately after high school.

Re: Class of 2018 - JohnR34231 - 06-06-2017

Here's an article about West that is fairly sanguine.

http://www.scout.com/college/football/recruiting/story/1782879-pac-12-qb-commit-talks-elite-11-experience

Coming in right after one QB (Davis Mills) and possibly right before another (JT Daniels) who are considered among the top QB's in their class, he will have a lot of competition.
