Who is the only American male to win an Olympic gold medal in the javelin?
Hint: He shares a full name with a Baseball Hall of Famer.

Well, I was going to guess Rose, Bonds, Clemens or O'Doul, but I guess those won't work.

I was going to say Hawaii but then remembered they're not P4 + their one win in the NCAA's was over
kal in the 2016 tourney - that latter part just warmed the cockles of my heart....IMUA!
OK - back to business - Rutgers?
RE: Sports trivia thread 2025 -

Rutgers is 6-9 in the tourney including a run to the Final 4 in 1976. I remember that team led by Phil Sellers. They (like Indiana) were undefeated (31-0) going into the tourney (the last time 2 unbeaten teams got to the Final 4), but lost to Michigan in the semis.
Here's a (big) hint. By the end of this week, there's a chance that every Power 4 team will have at least 1 NCAA tourney win.

If not, even more reason to be glad we're not Nebraska.....

Bingo! The Huskers are 0-8 in the NCAA tourney, losing 4 times as the higher seed. They will try to break the streak on Thursday as a 4 seed vs. Troy.

Congratulations to the former Bugeaters! Nebraska beat Troy 76-47.

Kwalick finished his career with the Raiders starting my frosh year - don't think he's NFL HoF either.
Wilcox & Johnson - hadn't thought of those guys, both good guesses too.

You're right on both counts re: Kwalick.
Mike Ditka says Dave Wilcox was the reason he retired...he couldn't get off the line against Wilcox.
Visco Grgich, Joe "The Jet" Perry, or John Henry Johnson

Kwalick went from being one of my favorite Niners when I was in h.s to a Traitor Raider the season I started my frosh year. My frosh roomie was from Menlo Park and a Raider fan and gave me crap about it - my reply was that he was only a Raider fan because a Raiderette had been featured in Playboy earlier that year.
But I digress - so Bob , my guesses above were B Young, Willis & Brodie
