Bob, great guesses. The 1927 Murderers Row Yankees (Gehrig, 173; Lazzeri, 102; Koenig, 62; Dugan, 43) had 380. Lazzeri and Koenig went to Galileo and Lowell HS, respectively. Interestingly, same year, same city, the 1927 New York Giants had 402 (Bill Terry, 121; Rogers Hornsby, 125; Travis Jackson, 98; Freddy Lindstrom, 58). All four Giants are HoFers, only Lazzeri and Gehrig are HoFers.
The 1949 Red Sox had 384 collectively, 1950 Red Sox had the second most at 457 (They fell off in 1951, only 249 total).
None of the Red Sox are HoFers:
Dropo, 1B, 144
Doerr, 2B, 120
Stephens, SS, 144
Pesky, 3B, 49
The all-time leaders were the 1934 Detroit Tigers infield, a/k/a "The Battalion of Death" as a Detroit sportswriter referred to them:
Hank Greenberg, 1B, 139
Charlie Gehringer, 2B, 127
Bill Rogell, SS, 100
Marv Owen, 3B, 96
By way of comparison, the most RBIs by San Francisco Giants infielders were JT Snow (96), Jeff Kent (125), Rich Aurilia (79) and Bill Mueller (55) in 1997, total 355.

With Rory McIlroy winning the Masters over the week end, he becomes the fourth person to sucessfully defend his title. Who were the other three to win back-to-back Masters?

Skip has got the three right.
Tiger Woods in 2001 and 2002
Nick Faldo in 1989 and 1990
Jack Nicklaus in 1965 and 1966

Seven golfers have won the U. S. Open back to back, just three since WWII.
Name those three. Extra credit, name the four prior to WWII.

This list looks pretty good. I'll add Bobby Jones to the pre-WW2 list.

I’m pretty certain that Curtis Strange won back to-back US Opens.

Yes on Hogan in 1950 and 1951. No on the rest.

That's right, Skip. Bobby Jones won in 1929 and 1930.
Brooks Koepka won in 2017 and 2018. Interesting career...he's won only nine PGA events total, but five of them were majors, including back to back PGAs in 2018 and 2019 and the PGA again in 2023. Other PGA wins were the Waste Management Phoenix open in 2015 and 2021, the CJ Cup in 2018, the WGC/FedEx in 2019. He has five LIV wins.
Ralph Guldahl won the US Open in 1937 and 1938 (and the Masters in 1939). He won the Santa Monica PGA open in 1931 at the age of 20, a record that would not be equaled until 2013. He won 16 PGA events in the 1930s, and basically lost interest during WWII.
John McDermott was the first U. S.-born golfer to win the U. S. Open, winning at the age of 19 in 1911 (youngest USO winner ever, even younger than Ouimet), and again in 1912 -- becoming the first player to break par over 72 holes in a significant event. He won the Western Open when it was considered a major the next year. After the British Open in 1914, his ship collided with another ship in the Atlantic Ocean. The incident affected him so gravely that he collapsed upon his return at the age of 23, and spent the rest of his life in mental hospitals.
Willie Anderson is the only golfer to win three US Opens in a row, in 1903, 1904 and 1905 (he also won in 1901). He was a native Scot who emigrated to the USA at the age of 18. He won the Southern California Open in 1899. He served as club pro at ten clubs in 14 years (common for club pros at the time), dying at age 31 of epilepsy and alcoholism.

Slow, lots of at bats, not much power, long career, probably played in the 1960s. Im thinking a catcher or infielder. Stanford grad Bob Boone.
EDIT: I checked. Some very interesting names on the career GIDP list. Not Bob Boone, of course.

Not Bob Boone ‘s dad Ray not son Aaron.

With the Toronto Maple Leafs failing to make the NHL playoffs, the previous longest active playoff streak in the NHL has fallen. Who now has the longest active playoff streak in the NHL?
What about the three other major sports?

WAGs...
MLB...Rockies
NBA...Hornets would be my guess.
NFL...New York Jets...I think this was a question a few weeks ago.
NHL...Winnipeg Jets. I'll stick with the Jets. Maybe the Canadiens.

Mick's guesses look good for NFL, MLB, & NBA.
For NHL, I think that is (surprisingly) the Detroit Red Wings.

Not a trivia question, I just thought this was interesting. Biggest pro golf purses in order:
Tour Championship, $40M
Players Championship, $25M
Masters, $22.5M
U. S. Open, $21.5M
PGA Championship, $19M
British Open, $17M
PGA Signature Events all have $20 million prize money:
Arnold Palmer Invitational / Orlando, Bay Hill
AT&T Pro-Am / Pebble Beach
Cadillac Championship / Doral, Miami
Genesis Invitational / Riviera
Memorial / Muirfield Village, Dublin OH
RBC Heritage / Hilton Head
Travelers Championship / TPC River Highlands, CT
Truist Championship / Quail Hollow, Charlotte
Most other PGA Tour non-major events are between $8.8 mms. (John Deere) and $10.3 mms. (Byron Nelson). There are some smaller events on the regular PGA Tour, including Bank of Utah ($6M), Biltmore ($5M), Butterfield Bermuda ($6M), VidantaWorld Mexico ($6M), WorldWide Tech ($6M), Hero World ($5M), Grant Thornton ($4.1M).
Korn Ferry Tour (Ben Hogan Tour from 1989-1992, Nike Tour from 1993-99, buy.com from 2000-02, Nationwide from 2003-2012, web.com from 2012-2019, Korn Ferry from 2019 through 2028) consists of 25 events, purses of first 21 are $1 million, last four events are $1.5 million.

I think you got it backwards, I believe the question was which NHL team has the longest current playoff streak now that Toronto missed the playoffs this year.
My answer - Colorado, the favorite for this year’s Stanley Cup.
By the way, I know that Detroit currently has the longest non-playoff streak. I recently read an article about Buffalo’s escape from that dreaded status and the Red Wings bump up to the top of that list.

On this date (April 17) in 1956, three future Hall of Famers played their first major league game. That's the only time that three HOF players had their debuts on the same day. Who were they?
