Wilson, Wade- 6'2" 225 QB
Pro's: Great accuracy, looks good in red, won't miss many, if any, games due to injury.
Con's: Not sure he can get admitted due to his distaste for authority and tests, also, he is not in the mold (physically) of our most recent QB's.

Might be good in the band, if it exists.

Peter Parker, 5'10", 167 lbs, WR
Pros: Strong for his size, excellent vertical, sticky hands.
Cons: Talks a lot of smack.

Jack Griffin, 5'5" 145 lbs. Punt returner. Fifth year transfer, pre-med at Duke, intern at Stanford Hospital. So shifty Coach Alamar says he's invisible to opponent gunners.

I'm betting Shaw boots him off the team when he tests positive for monocaine.

Thanks, you're probably the only other poster who actually saw a first run Claude Rains picture.

That is an outstanding article. Thanks for posting, TandB. I especially noted that Little's father made inferences about Stanford from the comments he read on internet bulletin boards like the CardBoard.
Quote: When Doug visited forums of various schools during his sons recruitment he noticed that Stanford received special treatment. Fans of other schools didn't succumb to the knee-jerk reaction to hammer Stanford as a horrible choice the moment it was mentioned Walker may go there. There was a deference by people who often acknowledged they would send their child to Stanford if it was an option.

Wow, by the end of the article I almost had a tear in my eye. Great story, and really, really well written too!
Shaw and co. should be sending that link to every Stanford recruit and their parents! Maybe even every high school coach they encounter. What's most amazing about it is that "NFL" is never mentioned.Â
Like I said in another post, if Walker Little can pick Stanford over Texas, Foster Sarell can pick Stanford over Washington.

Well, strictly speaking it was a reference to boards that are mostly very unlike the Cardboard, but presumably less so within those specific comments.
And certainly a fun read.

Something could be happening with Foster Sarell, who announces on Saturday. Three "expert" predictions came in Stanford yesterday over at 247. Fingers crossed.

One of those predictions is a Washington beat writer. It's usually a pretty reliable indicator when the opposing school's writers pick against them.

That was certainly what happened with Little. Right before he announced the pendulum on 247Sports swung our way. Hopefully we will end up with the same result with Sarell.
FWIW Sarell sounds like he has made the decision in a very thoughtful way. He says he didn't enjoy all the redeye flights to campuses after his games but he thought he needed to have all the data. The more thoughtful his decision the more I think it favors us.
