Let's just escape with a win. Can't believe the Trees are making Kansas St look good. CMac's H campaign took a big hit and the win, if they get it, won't impress anyone. For now, let's just hold on for the win, Cardinal. But this is not the start to the season I was hoping for.

That was a Voldemort moment.  ::)

Re: Kansas State Game Thread - rudruff - 09-02-2016

Anyone know who the ogres are tonight?

Re: Kansas State Game Thread - dabigv13 - 09-02-2016

Scoreline and CMACs box score both looking better than they did a few minutes ago. Two long TD runs will play well on tomorrow's CFB shows (really need to stop thinking about that pointless H word trophy).

Re: Kansas State Game Thread - Mick - 09-02-2016

I think we can forget about the H

Re: Kansas State Game Thread - dabigv13 - 09-02-2016

We would've thought the same after Northwestern.

Re: Kansas State Game Thread - jacketree - 09-02-2016

Game's not over either.

Thats harsh.  He had 140+ yards rushing and two TD's.  Its only the second game
Of the season.  Last year his first 100 yard game wasn't until the third game of the season.

Another Blatant PI not called

Re: Kansas State Game Thread - martyup - 09-02-2016

A pick 6 right now would help my prediction and would keep our streak going.  ;D

This is the second game of the season? What happened in the first one? I must have missed it...

Re: Kansas State Game Thread - Mick - 09-02-2016

Did I hear that right?  It's a Big 12 officiating crew?

Re: Kansas State Game Thread - dabigv13 - 09-02-2016

Victory in game one against a team from the Big12, CMACS Voldemort campaign gets the highlights on the shows tomorrow it needs, beat the spread.....hard to argue with that! Go Card!

Re: Kansas State Game Thread - jacketree - 09-02-2016

Yeah road conference provides field crew and home conference provides replay crew.

Re: Kansas State Game Thread - Nan3cy - 09-02-2016

How lucky our we when our #1 guy has a "bad" game and has 120+ yards rushing and two touchdowns??  :)

Re: Kansas State Game Thread - dabigv13 - 09-02-2016

More positives- Burns 14/18 with an 8.7 ypa, our punter looks great, our kicker hit a 50 yard FG.

Re: Kansas State Game Thread - washingtonismoney - 09-02-2016

For me the operative question isn't "How good?" but "How soon?" There's talent here, it's just a question of how it coheres.

Things I'm certain about:
1) Hoffpauir was not great in coverage in '14 and he looked baaadddd tonight. Coaches might have to drop Hoffpauir at NB and go with next up.

2) It looks like the DL really is legitimately six-deep. Guess that wasn't just coachspeak!

3) The three-man dime front in non-third-and-long has to go. KSU were just gashing it on normal downs and it's just simple math.

The big question, of course, is the offensive line. How much of the issues were simply typical gel issues, how many were personnel, how many were off days and so on?

Otherwise most things looked good. Just...how soon will it all come together? My suspicion for the most likely scenario from this year was 2014, where the team became its best self late. I think that's still in play -- but it's a question whether everything comes together against SC, against UCLA, or even later?

Re: Kansas State Game Thread - Mick - 09-02-2016

Agree on all your points.  Did we have eight sacks?
