Feldman says Leavitt will be the highest paid coordinator in Pac-12 history.  Cal board says Cal was also in discussions with Leavitt.

Seems it might be appropriate to start a new thread on sort of the strategic landscape of Pac-12 Football, and implications of the new coaching hires.

Hopefully the next hire is the baseball coach.  No clue when that will come.  I was hoping going into the season but that looks doubtful now with a full staff in place.

Technically his contract wasn't renewed.

But Buddy Ryan, Dick Lebeau, and Vic Fangio couldn't have made chicken salad out of the chicken sh*t roster Cal has on defense.  And frankly, Jim Leavitt or anyone else isn't going to work a miracle there either.  The recruiting on defense is at a Group of 5 level, so the priority has to be finding someone who can recruit as much as coordinate a defense.
