Hope Costello remains healthy.  But, realistically, you have to look at Mills as the #2 next year if Chryst does have an ACL tear as it sure seems is the case.

Relax, Cardinal fans. This is a meaningless exhibition game, remember?  ;)

Re: Sun Bowl Game Thread - Phogge - 12-30-2016

Sundance is running a Law and Order marathon. Michael Moriarty is doing a better job than Burns.

Yes you have, unless you didn't watch the best game of last year. (Skip to about halfway through.)

I mean, I find it hard to hold the coaches' decision against 'em. Burns looked... pretty darn competent in the beginning of the season. I have no idea where that QB went but.

Re: Sun Bowl Game Thread - ChicagoCard - 12-30-2016

Burns did have a couple good moments, early against KSU and at the end of the UCLA game.

I genuinely wonder if the two frosh walk on QBs are better than Burns at this stage.  I don't see a single redeeming QB quality skill from him.

Thanks, Martyup, you are amazing!
Too bad we couldn't get 7 off that turnover...

Re: Sun Bowl Game Thread - BurgXXIII - 12-30-2016

Trubisky is the best QB in the draft?

Re: Sun Bowl Game Thread - martyup - 12-30-2016

This is where coach Shaw earns the big bucks.  How do we win this game with Burns at the helm?  What is the adjusted game plan?  How does he keep the team motivated?  Come on Shaw, you can do it!

Re: Sun Bowl Game Thread - ThePassionOfTheChryst - 12-30-2016

I'm confident that Chryst being on crutches is just some Shawnanigans. He will return in the second half and sling it for 300.

Re: Sun Bowl Game Thread - Duck Tears - 12-30-2016

Remember Greg Ennis in the '86 Gator Bowl, filling in for Paye? That would be an upgrade, a massive one, over Burns.

Re: Sun Bowl Game Thread - martyup - 12-30-2016

Man, Chryst was looking really good when he went down.  He was doing it with his arm and his legs.  Why?

This is the example I think of when I think of Michael Rector's running skills:

I don't mean to be a cynic but.....

How do we win this game with Burns at the helm?
Play flawless defense.

Right now, Rector's running instincts are on par with his ability to get open.

Good recollection. Coincidentally I believe that on the decisive play of that game, trailing 27-21, Ennis threw the ball into the ground on a WR screen on 4th and short.

Unfortunately, Rector has very poor vision as a runner.  We have been spoiled by McCaffrey who has incredible vision.
