Well, not if you are a fan of punts from the opponent’s side of the field.

The offense was moving the ball; the issue was that we were stalling and both our field goal kickers are injured.

That and our tackling is awful.

WHEN THEIR DEFENSE IS FASTER THAN YOUR OFFENSE, DELAYED HANDOFFS ARE A STUPID AF IDEA. DOUBLY SO ON 3RD & 10

As was observed in the broadcast, you are trying to get it to a manageable fourth down distance since you are planning to go for it from the get go.  We did get it to 4th and six.  The goal was never to get all 10 yards on the draw.

BC

Doesn’t matter. Delayed handoffs against a fast defense are stupid stupid stupid

RE: Stanford vs ASU Game Thread - BostonCard - 10-08-2021

I agree that it was a bad call on second down.  It was a reasonable call on third down if your intention was to get three or four yards to make fourth down manageable.

245lb MLB should not get run over...

RE: Stanford vs ASU Game Thread - BostonCard - 10-08-2021

We are the sloppy, undisciplined team tonight.

This is really painful to watch.

Cristobal would have called the time out with about 20 seconds left, because, reasons.

I gotta give credit to the Sun Devis tonight.  They are playing better than the score indicates, and dominating both lines of scrimmage.  And while I thought they might have been undone by sloppiness, they are winning the turnover battle 2-1 and have 1 penalty through three-plus quarters.

Imagine being there (which I am)

Well, not everything goes ASU’s way; the FG goes wide right.

That's the turning point.  Here we come.  Let's go CARD!

RE: Stanford vs ASU Game Thread - LDN/SG Card - 10-08-2021

Right where we want em?

RE: Stanford vs ASU Game Thread - BostonCard - 10-08-2021

Almost another INT.

BC

I think we have made it to ASU territory in every drive but one (the pick six), and have 10 points to show for it.

BC

Sacked on fourth down just about sums up this game.

Rouse is being schooled and Hinton is worse.

RE: Stanford vs ASU Game Thread - BostonCard - 10-08-2021

Kelly was beaten like a drum there; lucky it was under thrown.  Not sure why ASU isn’t just running it down our throat.

RE: Stanford vs ASU Game Thread - LDN/SG Card - 10-08-2021

I really like McKee but his pocket presence and awareness is defo an area for significant development...

RE: Stanford vs ASU Game Thread - BostonCard - 10-08-2021

We are lucky that ASU decided to pass three times there.  It’s a three and out.

RE: Stanford vs ASU Game Thread - martyup - 10-08-2021

Why is ASU throwing for the endzone? Shaw needs to ask the question.
