I believe that’s Moi’s sister going to Hawaii to play Volleyball. But that’s probably not his destination

Jaxon Moi in the portal as of 12/31/23
Wonder why he left. Academic issues? He would likely have had good playing time. His dad played at USC. Transferring there?
Well, U$C has a new DC and they are probably trying to beef up their defense so that would make sense.
Probably gave him a nice NIL.

If that is true, we'll be back even in terms of scholarship spaces... Still have not heard anything about Porter, Gilman, or Keneley. Has anyone else?

Troy Taylor said in his press conference that Chase ('24 signee) will get to play with his brother Bryce, so Bryce Farrell will be back. Coach Gregory tweeted a picture of returning safeties that included Gilman so looks like he'll be back. (Porter may have also been included in that post)
Gilman is in the portal.

Are we ready to replace this pinned thread with one about 2024 personnel? I see the 2024 spring roster has been posted.

Working on it this weekend. Will post new grid and then you can pin it and unpin this one...

Wanted to close this loop before adding new grid...
Domers
Walk-On Union Watch. Ten non-scholarship players got PT against Notre Dame. No statistics were recorded in the game unless noted.
- QB Beau Nelson, sr., made his collegiate debut in his final game! Completed one pass for eight yards, and had a nice run for six.
- K Emmet Kenney, jr., made his season debut (his fourth career game). He kicked a PAT and had a touchback on a KO. Nice work!
- WR Evan Jackson, jr., made his collegiate debut. Woohoo!
- DL Matthew Merritt, sr., played in his second game of the season, and recorded a tackle.

- P Aiden Flintoff, a walk-on, played in his tenth game (see above).

Langdude - 02-12-2024
I'll be posting the new grid soon, but, in perusing the spring roster, I think this is where the scholarship count is at:
80 2023 scholarship players
-21 Seniors/5th year scholarship players
-4 Non-senior transfers (Heyer, Patu, Williams, Moi)
-3 Non-senior retirements (Hawkins, Thompson, Slocum)
+9 Returning seniors/5th years (Phillips, Sinclair, Rogers, McLaughlin, Manley, Keneley, Porter, Ungar, Farrell)
=61 Ongoing scholarship commitments
+25 Incoming freshman scholarships (this is not counting Yamauchi)
+2 Incoming transfers (Green, Galvan)
=88 2024 scholarship commitments
Scholarships Available: -3
What am I missing? Either more are going to retire *after* spring football, some of the returning 5th/6th years are not on scholarship, and/or some of the recruits/transfers are actually PWOs.

You're not missing anything - this is exactly right. A few more scholarships need to be vacated sometime between now and the start of training camp.
Heyer is probably better counted as a retirement and not a transfer, as he took his name out of the portal and is still at Stanford.

I appreciate the info re: Heyer. Looks like Patu, Williams, and Lester have not found new football homes yet, either.
